SPOILER How dose everyone feel about Ohnaka returning?

Onaka is one of those guys that shows up when you least expect him- that's the charm of the character. It's very plausible to see him anywhere on the outer rim. I'm excited to see this character again.

 

I'm on the fence. I've always liked Hondo, but I worry about Rebels fighting the Clone Wars' unfinished battles... if that makes sense. We spent a whole season getting to know the Rebels characters, and now we've got an avalanche (well ok... three and some change) of Clone Wars characters coming in. So far it's been great and I've got no complaints, but I still worry about it a little.

 

I get what ur saying about the unfinished battles. And I agree.

He's one of the greatest characters from The Clone Wars, and one of my favorites too. The man is awesome.

"Insolence? We are pirates, we don't even know what that means!" This line is so great.

And I'm looking forward to see him in Rebels, but I didn't like his design.

 

I hope he tells some stories to young ezra. This pirate interacted with more jedi and sith than any other non-force sensitive.

 

Lets hope it is not the only time we see him, which no doubt we will see him again but it would be interesting to see if he tell Erza some stories, even Kanana even though he was a Padawan.

 

I've not always liked him, but overall he is a great character. The fact he can be an opponent, an ally, an instigator, or a hindrance all in one person is both rare and awesome!

I am somewhat torn about the abundance of TCW characters that have shown up in pretty short order this season - Ahsoka, Rex, Wolfe, Gregor, and Hondo all within the first 4 episodes (plus the last 2 minutes of season 1). But as long as they don't dwell on it too much they should fit in well. I like they are tying the two shows together, but am worried it will feel like too much.

 

I understand your feeling and felt kind of the same way, initially, but I give the writing team credit for using the first season to establish that the new characters are the main characters, and I like the way they are slowly expanding their place in the galaxy. It wouldn't be much of a show if "Rebels" only ever took place on one planet with six characters when it's set in a time when the Alliance is growing. And otherwise people would have been constantly asking for answers to questions that are better shown on screen.

 

I read something the other day that changed my opinion somewhat, pointing out that Season One did introduce several OT characters (R2-D2, C-3PO, Lando, Tarkin, Vader, Bail/Tantive IV (technically PT, but sorta transcends). Having that ah-ha moment made what they are doing with TCW characters in Season Two make much more sense...

 

I hope they have Momaw Nadon in rebels. He aided the rebels in the old EU, had force sensitivity and herded trees. What a badass.
