How much do you think force wielders would have evolved if we came in contact with them today?

passing on a question purposed to one of the star wars facebook groups i follow.

Considering Star Wars takes place a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, how much do you think force wielders would have evolved if we came in contact with them today? What new abilities would they have?

    this was my answer:
That's a dam good question. Let's start with the first part though....a long time ago is an unspecified amount of time. Its subjective. Some believe that earth is less then 10000 years old...that could be a long time ago...look at KOTOR for example. It took place 4000 years before episode 4. And not a lot changed. Even the technology is similar to what they used in the films. The star wars universe makes very slow changes over time. I think the Jedi would evolve at an even slower pace then the technology. So now were talking thousands and thousands of years.

after i posted that answer i also thought about how a few Force wielders have become one with the force. what would it be like to communicate with someone with such power?

another answer from someone else said that in a Star wars/Star Trek cross over, the Jedi became the Q

    what do you guys think?

Perhaps enough to harness it to the full potential possible. Teleportation, regeneration, resurrection, possibly even time travel... the sky's the limit with "what ifs". Essentially the gods of old.

Of course, that's assuming one could tame and take control of the Force. I'm not sure they can. More likely than not, they'd always be stuck to a certain limit of what could be achieved, with things like precise clairvoyance being the pinnacle. Technically, the cults and teachings of Force usage had been around for some 25,000 (old EU stuff) with not too many things changing in all honesty.

The teachings also imposed limitations on the Force users, on both sides, and that hindered evolution to a degree. What I would like to think is that at some point a school of thought developed to accept a true balance of the Force, using the power of the Dark side to fuel the Light, or something to that affect.
