i think twists are overrated. the rewatch value of a film for me is always going to be the reaction to the twist reveal rather than the twist itself.
    • learning Kylo Ren is Han's son was only maybe marginally surprising to me. watching Ren lose his composure over it: that's the endlessly interesting part.
    • learning Vader is Luke's father was shocking, but it's Luke's response to the revelation that makes me want to watch the scene again and again.
i think people new to Star Wars are unlikely to ever experience the OT the way us oldsters did. just like kids who watched TFA probably had a completely different experience of it compared to those of us who knew (whether spoilered or intuitively) that Han was going to perish on that bridge.

When my son first wanted to watch Star Wars he was 14. His mother hated it so that's why it took him so long. I had him watch 4-6, then 1-3. He already knew Vader was Lukes Father through media and my obsession with it. After he did he thanked me and told his younger brother if you want too watch them you have to watch them 4-6 first or it will ruin it.

    Honest truth.

I think TFA has suprisingly strong rewatch value. Usually after the 2nd view movies start be become very boring to me, so I either dont rewatch them or take a couple of years break.
I watched TFA 5 times in the cinema with only 1-2 week break and even tho I know every single dialogue by hart, I was never bored. There is always a scene which keeps me interessted enough.

    Yes I'am.
And I'am glad that I did.

In my opinion 1-6, now 1-7 is the perfect order.
