How to be a better member and a good friend in The Cantina

Good one @Light Savior_47 IMO being a good & better member is always to think before you post because it could have consequences later on I have learned to post when I feel I can relate to what previous members have discussed sometimes they work sometimes they don't but everybody has a opinion, I have been here a year had some ups & some downs but that's on me I appreciate the members who have followed me & I in turn have followed great members, may the force be with you.

 

Lighty, my mate. You know I think you're great, and I value you here as a forumite immensely.

But for the love of God get the space bar fixed on whatever you type with!

The lack of double spaces after the full stops in your sentences makes my brain hurt, like a lot, and I really like reading your posts. So please, please, please have consideration for my poor, feeble, tired brain and chuck some double spacing after those sentances are finished.

Keep on keeping on, my friend, you have a lovely soul and I look forward to more foruming with you in the future.

It is so wonderful to hear someone share this feeling, and I am in total agreement. I am grateful for this website and for everyone who participates and shares in our enjoyment of all things Star Wars.

Our interests in Star Wars have helped us gather here, and we are blessed there are such forums where we can ask questions, trade suggestions, gain new perspectives, respectfully and constructively debate interpretations and theories, and enjoy each other's company.

No matter how strong we feel about a certain aspect of Star Wars, or life in general, we should always be mindful of our words, what we say, how those things might come across to other people, realizing that there are other perspectives and feelings, and trying to be as understanding, forgiving, and positive as possible.

The Star Wars galaxy is a vast one, and there's more than enough room for everyone here!

It is essential to give other people respect, to listen to what they are saying, to be considerate and polite, so that we might also be respected, heard, and considered and treated politely in return.

We have so much to discuss these days, and so much more to enjoy in the coming years! It is so very exciting -- maybe the best time ever to be a Star Wars fan!

So let's lead by example, each of us doing our best to keep the dialogue informative and pleasant, agreeing to disagree whenever it does come to that, but always with a view towards making Star Wars fandom the most positive and enjoyable thing it could possibly be.

May the Force be with all of us always.

Excellent post my friend. If I can add my two cents I would like to say that we should all be respectful about the theories of others and if we want to debate with them then that's fine but there have been people here who can't seem to be able to get their point across if it's not insulting others or just being rude. Even if my theory is crazy, that doesn't give anyone the right to badmouth me just so that they can try to prove that their theory (which is sometimes even crazier) is the correct one. How can I say ''I think Rey is the daughter of Greedo'' and then this random person is going to say ''You are ridiculous. That's the stupidest theory ever. Do you even have a brain? TFA makes it perfectly clear that Rey is the daughter of Hammerhead so shut up and don't talk S#%! if you don't know anything.'' These people think that by cursing and accusing your intellect they can prove their point but that is totally wrong. There are others who have a disagreement with you on one post and then they troll all your other posts so that they can always go against what you say or give you negative quotes. We have to be better than this guys! We can debate, come to understandings and even disagree with each other on certain things but that doesn't have to get out of hand and we can keep it friendly. We are all here because we love SW and as the OP said, we can become a great big SW loving family if we treat each other with respect.
