How was the movie Ex Machina? How did Gleeson and Isaac perform?

I'm curious to know if anyone here has seen this movie yet and if you did, how was it? Furthermore, how did Domhnall Gleeson and Oscar Isaac perform in it? I"m trying to get an idea on how these two actors are like acting-wise since we'll be seeing them in TFA.

Oscar Isaac was absolutely awesome! After Llewyn Davis, and Ex Machina, he may be one of my favorite actors. Some of Gleeson's line reads felt a little wooden, but I think that may have something to do with putting on an American accent (it also kind of fit in with the character he was playing). He still gives a great, sympathetic performance. You really do feel for him.

I would also check out the Black Mirror episode that Gleeson did (actually, you should check out every Black Mirror episode).

Watched it yesterday. Fantastic movie with fantastic performances. It's a very welcomed breath of fresh air from all the comic book movies flooding the theaters (which I also love). :)

It was better then 'The Machine' (2013) which had the exact same premise. And much better then 'Automata' (2014) which had a similar premise.
It was not as good as the TV series 'Äkta människor' (Real Humans) (2012-2014) which is the best artificial human sci-fi since 'Blade Runner' (1982) and I don't say that lightly. Incidentally, an inferior remake of that show is coming later in the year called 'Humans' which will be in English.

I saw 'Ex Machina' specifically to see Gleeson and Isaac acting together because I was also curious. They did a fine job. I also second WedgeSalad's recommendation of 'Black Mirror' (2011-2015) which is an anthology show like Twilight Zone or Outer Limits with stories specifically revolving around the technology we interact with on a daily basis.

    Happy viewing!

Of the main cast Gleeson's performance was the weakest, Isaac was great though.

I kind of wanted to punch Gleeson's character in the face, not the actors fault it was the writting.

Isaac honestly stole the show. I would agree that Gleeson's performance was the least interesting of the three but it was by no means weak. Alicia Vikander really sold the AI for me but it was Isaac's character and performance that I've been thinking about since seeing it. I am STOKED to see him as Poe, he's going to own that role. Like Wedge said, he's quickly becoming one of my favourite actors.
