Just to hear his reasoning why he changed "Jedi rocks" and why he exchanged the wookies for ewoks and his choice for a second deathstar without changing the aesthetics are just hilarious.

Jedi rocks: he thought the fat dancer and puppet did not give the performance he wanted and he disliked the music :p

Ewoks: he had originally imagined a primitive people to overthrow the empire. That people would be the wookies. But he thought there would be a discordance between Chewie being a co-pilot and his people being primitive (which is very racist statement to make Mr. Lucas!:p). So he decided to invent the ewoks, who were less hairy and half the size of those cool wookies :p

Second Deathstar: the destruction of the original deathstar would in his first story draft take place in Return of the Jedi. But because he had already destroyed deathstar in A New Hope (he did not know if there were going to be any sequels), he decided to include another one and make it look exactly the same :p He was just not flexible enough to think of another place where the emperor might reside :D Stupid

Which would be fine if he invented another race that was "primitive" but imposing and badass. But that wouldn't be as marketable, would it?

This reminds me that I need to be somewhat more skeptical of the TFA box office. Hardcore SW fans are considered slackers for only seeing the movie four times! What other franchise benefits from such repeated viewings by a base of moviegoers? Its doubtful that I will find many Marvel fanatics seeing any of the Marvel movies four times. But I regularly come across SW fans who claim to have seen TFA eight times, ten times, fifteen times, twenty times, thirty-four times! And quality of the movie often has little to do with it. There have been people who claimed they don't care for TPM and AotC and yet went to the theaters a dozen times for each of those movies. One can argue the gross of all SW fans are inflated to an extent because of this one highly unusual advantage it maintains with ridiculous repeat business.

As a kid I saw ANH eight times, ESB six times, and RotJ three times. As for The Force Awakens? My plan was to see it three times in its first two days. I ended up seeing it once and never went back. Overall I liked the film, especially the first forty or so minutes, but there weren't enough compelling reasons for me to see it in the theaters again even though I had assumed that I would see it fives times at least. But....I've only gone one time. To pick up on things I may have missed out that one and only time I rely on the screenplay that I acquired. It's all I need.

"mommy can I have that ewok bear....it is so cute!" Lucas' mind works in mysterious ways. In Attack of the Clones, he even gave Watto a type of hat which was compulsory dress for Medieval Jews to distinguish them from Christians. He made the racist character of Watto even worse for no reason:

I've seen it 3 times, but would go more if I didn't have to deal with annoying people in the movie theater. The last time I saw it these 2 people in back of me were talking throughout the last 5 minutes of the movie while Rey was headed to see Luke and it totally ruined it for me.

Once I get in on Bluray in the spring, I will watch it endlessly in my home theater.

Go in the early morning or early afternoon. That will usually do. But don't go on a saturday because there are bount to be juvenile spoiled kids ruining your movie.

I took my nephew to a Sunday matinee, and no joke but every 5 minutes a kid was getting up to go to the bathroom. Then they would come back and couldn't find their seats in the dark, it was driving me crazy!

I saw AOTC 2x, ROTS 2x, Phantom Menace 2X, I was to young to see A New Hope in cinema. I saw Empire Strikes Back 7x, Return of the Jedi 5x and The Force Awakens 9x. I love it, can I? The quality of the movie has everything to do with it. I recognize quality, and want to see it in the best possible way as many times possible, because I know I will probably never see it again on the big screen. This movie deserves to be viewed on the big screen. It is more than just a screenplay: the screenplay is just half the movie. Many of the subtext is missing from a simple text which does not include the accompanying images. I love the movie because of its artistic quality and because it did something with me emotionally as a fan. The movie set out to do just that, am I an idiot to reward it and myself by viewing it again?

There was this kid throwing popcorn in the air at silent moments at the beginning of the movie. I bent foreward to him and scared him by saying that I will have him removed from MY theatre if he would bother MY audience again. lol It worked. Silent as the grave.

7 times at the cinema, It's still roughly in the same league as ANH and ESB for me even after a few viewings. I tried downloading the torrent a couple of weeks ago but by the time I got to the Poe interrogation scene I got sick of the poor quality, if I was watching a drama or comedy it would be fine but for SW it was unbearable. I do use the file just to rewatch certain scenes like the flashback, because I wanted to hear Obi Wan's lines clearly at home and for small stuff like that, but I'm absolutely gagging for the blu-ray release now!

I love going to the cinema for the first couple of viewings but I much prefer watching films at home on my 55" screen, reclining lazyboy chair and where I can smoke and have a couple of pints while watching, I can't wait to see this again at home in full with no distractions!

I know that happened to me once with my sisters, I had to make the treacherous climb up to the back seats, a creature of habit I know, but I got there in the end, next time small sips.;)

I was at the first IMAX screening of The Force Awakens in Amsterdam. The theatre was full of Star Wars fans, and I've never seen so many people slip out of the movie to go to the bathroom. Some of these fans were so incredibly nervous and excited, they just had to go :p Seriously, I didn't even drink anything before the movie. I went to the toilet 10 minutes before the movie started. Also I didn't eat or drink anything during that premiere :D

I will say this I love seeing a SW movie opening weekend in the theater cause the crowd is always rocking. I loved when the crowd roared the first time you see the Falcon or when Han Solo & Chewy come on screen.

Yeah I'll never forget that whole experience. It was right from that moment when Poe said: "who talks first" and peoples laughing because the timing was so right. They put up a camara just to film peoples reaction on that first viewing and it is just awesome to see those Star Wars fans crying and laughting and watching in awe at what's going on. Seriously I cried so many times, and still cry at some points in the movie. It tells something about the strenght of this movie that people were cheering when Finn activated his lightsabre on Takodana and cheered even harder when Kylo pulled the sabre towards him which ended up in Rey's hands. Most of the audience didn't see that one coming and they went nuts. I can't wait for episode 8! Even Rogue One, just bring it on!
