    So far the best I've got is "the will of the force." Would love to have something else, even if it's flimsy as hell, to hang my helmet on.

    When I watched it for a second time I noticed how clunky that was.

    Luke stands in front of the big ass door. Kylo fires 62 million shots at him.

    Two seconds later Finn and Rose walk through the big ass door.

    It does seem like they would have been collateral damage.

    If I'm not mistaken, there is a significant amount of time when they're the only ones left out there BEFORE Luke "joins" the battle. Additionally, with Finn so close to the cannon before Rose takes him out, they would end up very close to the FO front line.

    Also Finn is dragging her, so it would be a super slow return to base.

    Force speed.

    That, and I'm assuming when Rian was pouring accelerant on the franchise and looking for his lighter Disney stepped in and said, technically he wasn't allowed to kill Finn in this episode. So the guns that should have shot him to pieces were stayed for this Episode.
