SPOILER Image of Luke's Beard being teased?

That isn't an answer. We already knew it was Luke... we want to see his image of dark Luke, that image is not the Dark Luke image.

 

Exactly. Throwing that picture around as if it solves or shows anything is silly - the beard was a pretty massive give away as to who this was an image of, now we want the actual image.

 

I think people are implying that is the actual image the pieces are from. As I just said in the other thread where this came up, anyone with eyes can see that they are not the same image. And on top of that, Sylar himself didn't tweet it, he retweeted it after someone tweeted the picture at him...
And FWIW, I doubt the eye is necessarily part of the original "teased" image anyway...

 

This was all a big sham/tease joke on us.

 

There is no doubt in my mind that that may well be true...
But I don't see how the beard pieces being pasted on top of a photograph of Luke which they are clearly not cropped from originally proves that.
Look, the original fragments may be nothing to do with TFA. They may not be Mark Hamill, and they may not be anything to do with Star Wars. But they are also NOT from the picture posted several times above that someone originally tweeted to G@G@ yesterday...

 

I don't know if these are old or legit or photoshopped, but since people are posting the same old stuff over and over again, I decided to share what I found.

 

Well... you kinda got a point...

 

Those beard pieces don't match 100%. It's an omnipotent dark or light side Luke with glowing eyes he's hinting at. He's trying to throw us off as though it was just that same shot of Luke. Onto you buddy!

Pretty sure that first one is from when Hamill grew a beard previously, and there was a mad craze of photoshopping him onto various pre-existing shots of Jedi robes for a while... like this one which uses the same photo of Hamill:

 

I think he's just saying that the image sections are of Luke. He's not saying he trolled us. They are not from that photo. And the person who over layed them did a terrible job.

Source? And well if that is true, did they film Mark with a beard all tho? Or was it the best fake beard in the whole history?

 

He doesn't have a source because that is just speculation. If I'm wrong about that I will gladly eat an Ewok.

The idea that Hamill would be "contractually obligated" to grow a beard to throw us off some sort of trail has baffled me since I first read it. First off - if you believe this you are going on the assumption that JJ and company knew we would happen upon leaked concept art of the Grave Robber, or some other beardless or masked villain. Secondly, and onto what you said, did he grow the beard for the entire shooting process and then film all of his scenes that final day of shooting after it was filmed, or was it - again as you said - the worlds greatest fake beard?

 

I never bought the whole "fake beard" thing. The main "evidence" behind that as I remember was that Mark's beard varied in length throughout the shoot but to me this can just as easily be explained by through the fact that they probably told Mark not to touch the beard so that they could trim it to length whenever they needed him for a shoot. If they hadn't said that, Mark could go off and trim his beard and then come back with one too short to match a scene shot earlier in the film.

That'd be a really big OOPS for the continuity department.

SO, Mark would grow it out, show up for filming, have it trimmed, leave, grow it out again and then have it trimmed again when he'd shoot another scene.

Alternatively, perhaps we'll have scenes from various times in Luke's exile and thus, beards of different lengths.

 

while the people complaining of his various beard lengths never really worried me much, I never considered this explanation. I feel silly as it does seem pretty obvious - but great thinking!

 

Maybe the film will cover a wide timespan. I mean a "real time" one, so his growth would be 100% real and not faked. And in the end he shaves it in order to fullfill his former Jedi Grandmaster role like we remember him from Ep VI, from there on he is the normal wizard teacher.
