    It's a nice idea. Imagine whatever society is established after the events of the OT simply can't function without an oppressive figurehead, and someone conspires to bring Vader back to restore the status quo in this way.
    Like I say, some of these reasons for bringing back Vader are nice, but I still just can't get away from the satisfying conclusion that ROTJ brought with it in my head. Yes, 30 years have passed, but tonally, it is going to be hard to get from that end celebration to a situation where things have gone to the dogs to this extent.
    It's going to take some really smart writing to get over that hurdle - it's the one thing I keep coming back to.
    I hope they pull it off...

    I put this forward when the concept art was leaked... my thought is that Luke is escaped (or whatever the tragedy was) and is Zorro, Boyega the new Zorro...

    Gabe said that one of his pics was from 1977, he was referring to a photo of the Falcon set that someone had taken from his Twitter account when he said that. (Although technically it was from 1976). ;)
    I don't think anyone has suggested a beard pic is from 1977, and if it was, it wouldn't have anything to do with Hamill or this photo...
