    He is the posterchild for Star Wars. Literally and figuratively.

    We haven't seen hide nor hair of Luke for far too long.

    And now he's an all-powerful Jedi Master.

    A sight we thought we'd never see.

    That is so simple yet powerful. Though it may be a bit too dark for a teaser to the first 'hopeful' entry.

    Maybe swap out for Obi-Wan's 'surrounds us and binds the galaxy'...

    Then end on mature Luke staring at twin suns.
    Shed a tear. Pump a fist in the air. Star Wars is back, baby!

    The beard signifies growth/change/wisdom as it is.

    They don't want to turn the rabid fanbase off with even a hint of Luke going dark.

    Am I the only one that had a difficult time discerning what I was even looking at in that pic? I understand the idea if being a "teaser to a teaser" but come on. Its like a tuft of hair and generic cloth behind it. Hardly worth even putting out there. We all know Luke has a beard and will be wearing robes in the movie.
