I guess my question really surrounds around the fact that this past episode of rebels made it seemsl The 5th brother could easily sense the presence of the rebels even from a great distance which required a jump to lightspeed to reach. Maybe any force user must know where to look so to speak before doing so, such as in this case? I am not keeping up with the comics so it probably has been answered there but when did Vader even become aware that Luke was a jedi let alone his son? Anyways, that is an interesting question. What is the end goal of Rebels?

The easiest way to reconcile there being Inquisitors active in the OT yet not active in the hunt for Luke would also be the simplest: He's Vader's son, and Vader told them all to back off or face his wrath. The Emperor could've easily gone along with it just to see how it all played out, and to use Luke's emotions towards Vader to help turn him.

I think you've hit the nail on the head with regard to needing some kind of thread to follow when using the Force for locating what you're looking for. Just my opinion, though. With regard to the number of Inquisitors, I'm not sure it's all that important, and, if I were involved, I would probably keep that number intentionally vague to preserve flexibility. My own pet theory with the Inquisitors is that at least some of the children they find are being turned into Inquisitors themselves (I think this is what they'll do with Zare's sister). Mind you, I haven't read the comics either, so I could be completely off base.

IGN asked Filoni. He doesn't know. I don't think they want to pin it down. 7-25 ish is all similar from a plot perspective. Its a galaxy of trillions. Inquisitors are more rare than identical triplets.

It would be really easy to get rid of the inquisitors by the OT, palpitine is a paranoid guy, if one inquisitor made some sort of power play, he would easily have Vader eliminate them. There's also the fact that the galaxy is a big place,...

I would imagine the Inquisitors are only a means to an end and basically puppets that are NOT per se bad force users nor good force users, but Palp use them for his own means, as Vader cant be bothered to track them all down. We know from the EU books that Palp had force users that were bad and once good and others just in between so what is to say that Papl didn't hold onto these force users for his own means? It makes sense, if they came across children that were force users, why not train them as a means of force, while always not giving these inquisitors to much power or to many numbers that would threaten Vader/Palp?

I agree 100%. Keep in mind Vader spent a lot of time with his own daughter and never recognized her Force potential. I think the seeker needs to know what he's seeking, and the person being sought has to be actively using the Force to be found.
