    This my guide on relative power levels of the Star Wars characters. My own personal opinion based on duels and dialogue seen and heard throughout the 6 movies.
    I think all duels make sense if reference this guide, including the one we will see on 17th December :D.
    As I said it is MY personal OPINION, so only reference it if you agree with it :p

    Tier 0 ------------------------------------- Jedi Master Rey if chosen by the Force or "special"

    *theoretical level assuming Master is roughly 3 levels higher than Knight/Apprentice and aged is roughly 1 level below Master.

    It is a gradual increase in power level from Knight/Apprentice to Master and gradual decrease in power from Master to "aged". Not instant.

    Characters can duel any character that is on their level, 1 level above or 1 level below. These duels can go either way but the character that is ranked higher is more powerful and "should" win.
    Characters are not powerful enough to duel a character that is 2 or more tiers above them.


    Give suggestions on who you think should be placed higher/lower and reasons why. Can edit if agree.

    Boy, this really is a mess. I've been looking at it for a little while though. Why is Finn's power level dependent on, or have any relation to Kylo's midichlorian count?

    My general thoughts

    1) Tier 0 is only hypothetical. Anakin never realized his full potential. I think he's tier 2.5 in RotS.
    2) Jedi Master Obi-Wan is tier 3.
    3) Jedi Master Qui-Gon should be tier 4, and I don't think he's hypothetical. Aged Qui-Gon is hypothetical.
    4) Vader is tricky because he has two versions: mech and non-mech. You just have him as mech, I assume. I'd say non-mech Vader in RotS is tier 3.5. I think you got mech Vader correct at tier 3 (during the OT)
    5) You're over-selling Finn. He would never be as powerful as Windu or Dooku in their prime (if he's force sensitive, which we don't even know!)
    6) I agree with you about Rey. She could be tier 1 when all's said and done.
    7) Ben Solo could also be tier 1 potentially.

    The point with Obi-Wan and Anakin from RotS is that Anakin's slightly ahead of Obi-Wan before he goes dark side, but his loss of discipline and control lowers his power level slightly below Obi-Wan.

    I arranged them all so the duels and dialogue from the 6 movies make sense. If you start moving characters up the ranking it doesn't make sense. Example if Obi-Wan is tier 3 like you say then why does Dooku own him twice and why is he not powerful enough to face Sidious as Yoda states?
    Obi-Wan must be below Dooku, Dooku must be with range of Yoda, Anakin must be close to Dooku etc
    Finn was included just in case he turns out fs, I don't believe he is, so if you don't believe he is you can just ignore Finn on the list, it's for those who think he might be, even if we must wait until episode 8 to get fs Finn. Linked to Kylo because of the forest duel.

    Makes sense.

    Dooku was wasted in ATOC and ROTS.
    He should have more screentime in both movies.
    Too late introduction in AOTC.
    In ROTS they wanted to get rid of him as soon as possible.

    I do not have any kind of particular rating system nor do I even know how to officially evaluate Jedi or Sith power levels, meaning my following ranking is just my personal, subjective belief:
    I try to keep it simple; there are five tiers, and everyone within the same tier is comparable to each other. I think it was the OP who originally said it (yes it was!): I like the idea of anyone being able to potentially defeat or "handle" a person who is only one tier above them, while anyone in a higher tier could potentially lose to or struggle against someone who belongs to a tier exactly one lower than them. Remember, these are vague, and some will be speculative based on new characters. Also, I am only going by the movies.
    Tier 1: Sidious; Darth Vadar; Yoda; Windu; Possibly ST Luke; POSSIBLY Snoke
    Tier 2: Kylo Ren; Dooku; Master Obi-Wan; ROTJ Luke; Darth Maul; Qui-Gon; ROTS Anakin;
    Tier 3: Rey in TFA; Padawan Obi-Wan;
    Tier 4: ESB Luke;
    Tier 5: Jedi or Sith pupils with rudimentary knowledge of the force and training with a lightsaber

    I think Rey will likely move up one tier per each of the next two movies, but I could see her never reaching Tier 2 and still being quite powerful. Kylo may move to the top tier as well.

    I would rank it this way:

    1.Padawan Obi Wan (beated Darth Maul)

    2.ESB Luke (with not much Jedi training he faced the migthy Sith Lord Darth Vader and did a good job.
    Vaders plan to capture Luke and freeze him in carbonite failed!!! The people should consider this.

    3.Rey (if Rey becomes Lukes pupil - ESB Luke and Padawan Obi Wan should rank above her)

    For my rating, there is no ranking within tiers. So, Rey and Obi Wan would both be tier 3, meaning Obi Wan could very well still be above Rey as a padawan in TPM, but he's still not skilled or powerful enough to move up to tier two. If anything, I should probably move Rey down to tier two (I know essentially what happens in VII, but not exactly so there's some speculation...and please do not spoil!). To me, the entire fight between Vader and Luke is mainly Vader focusing on turning Luke as opposed to actually beating him. I feel the fight would have been over in a minute if Vader was immediately intent on killing him. Luke in ESB is also a four because I see there being zero chance of him, at that time, beating anyone who is a tier 2 or higher; I couldn't see him even having a shot against padawan kenobi. Rey is definitely the one I am most unsure of, so I might update my impromptu ranking after tomorrow night ;) Just based on everything I have heard, again no spoilers!!!, Rey seems to be more naturally adept with the force and overall combat, when she first enters her first duel, than Luke was.

    Just watched it and , in my opinion, TFA Rey is definitely above ESB Luke in terms of both skill and power...totally stand by my ranking
