I couldn’t agree more. There are several parallels between Jedi: Fallen Order and not just The Last Jedi but the Sequels as a whole. Here’s what I found:
    • Cere Junda’s arc in this game is very similar to Luke’s in TLJ. She failed her apprentice (and the other students in her care), which led to the apprentice’s fall to the Dark Side. After this, Cere/Luke cut themselves off from the Force but still end up mentoring a promising youth (Cal/Rey). Towards the end, he/she opens back up to the Force and sees their former apprentice one final time.
    • Kylo Ren and the Second Sister are both Dark Siders who hide their true self behind a mask and have some serious anger issues! They both feel betrayed by their former master and have a deep hatred for them. They both also encounter a younger Force user who is mentored by their former master.
    • A parallel also exists between Cal and Kylo. Both have to escape the shadow of their idealized predecessor to grow. (Jaro Tapal for Cal and Darth Vader for Kylo.) Both also have the ability to freeze objects and opponents with the Force.
    • The animosity Rey and Cal both have with their masters and their lying.
    • Speaking of Rey and Cal, the two have a lot in common. Both come from similar professions (one’s a scavenger and one’s a salvager) and deal with a lot of trauma involving their pasts. (Rey’s parentage and Cal’s experiences with Order 66.) They both end up breaking their inherited lightsaber and have to make it their own to fix it. (Cal combines Tapal and Cere’s hilts together and Rey forges the two halves of the Skywalker lightsaber together.) Rey and Cal also end up leaving their lives on trash heap worlds to go on great adventures and neither initially saw him/herself as much. (“I’m nobody.” / “I’m trash, just not approved trash.”) They both have an important vision with a mirror before facing their adversary and it can be argued that both have used some degree of psychometry (Cal uses it several times throughout the game, Rey has only really “used” it when she touched the Skywalker lightsaber in TFA.)
    • The idea of the Zeffo society lines up perfectly with Luke’s words during the The Last Jedi. (“The Force does not belong to the Jedi. To say if the Jedi dies, the light dies is vanity.”)
    • The Purge Troopers from Fallen Order remind me a lot of the Praetorian Guards from TLJ.
    • Bogano also reminds me of Ahch-To in a lot of ways.
    • TLJ and JFO talk about rebuilding the Jedi Order frequently.
    • BD-1 reminds me a lot of BB-8, as they both have similar personalities/demeanors and relationships to the main character.

Not to mention some other references to The Last Jedi/the Sequel Trilogy, such as the character of Prauf being an Abednedo (a species first introduced in the Sequels), one of the bounty hunter droids in the game being the same model we see walking out of Maz’s castle on Takodana, there being Haysian Smelt customization options for your lightsaber, and Cantonica related customization options for BD-1 and/or the Mantis.

I am glad failure has bern added to The Jedi Path. The old way was too stoic and perfectionistic. The New Canon Jedi Path makes being a Jedi possible despite error and mistakes.
