    You guys are all ignoring the most probable answer. George Lucas basically created the Jedi order in a way that would push Anakin to the dark side. He made up all those nonsensical rules to give Anakin a reason to murder children and what not. The problem is this makes the Jedi look like complete idiots, while also making the dark side more sensical. So in terms of script, the Jedi Order, it's rules and actions, were all designed to make Anakin go bad.

    I think after seeing this Anakin would trade in his jedi role for a senator position, better pay I don't recall Tatooine having a senator represent it so him being from their would fit.

    I'm honestly unsure about sex vs romance in the Jedi Order. Romance is only forbidden because attachment is - one-night stands probably would be acceptable. But I feel like most Jedi were celibate nonetheless, as part of rejecting physical indulgence. The Order was pretty stilted and overly pragmatic.

    I imagine that if a Jedi had a one-night stand, he wouldn't be reprimanded, but definitely be judged for it.

    tatooine doesn't belong to the republic, it's hutt controlled. that's why it has no senators or representives.

    as far as i remember jedi are not allowed to have romantic love. if you can have sex without it, it's ok i guess. well, for me it seems that they are doing it but don't talk about.
    they dont like it, if you are doing it but they grant it.
