Today was the Ahsoka panel at Star Wars Celebration, and while it may be hard to believe we could possibly get more news after yesterday's bombshell Studio Showcase panel, including an Ahsoka trailer release, there were noteworthy items here too. Most notably was the confirmation that Lars Mikkelsen is playing Thrawn in live-action. However, snuck in directly before the Thrawn news was the exciting reveal that Kevin Kiner, composer for The Clone Wars and Rebels, will be scoring the Ahsoka series with some assistance from Ludwig Göransson.

Kiner has been instrumental in Ahsoka's journey as a character, composing her theme and scoring all of her failures and triumphs. It's only fitting that he would take the helm for her dedicated live-action Disney Plus release. Kiner is a pillar in the television scoring field, with more than 100 shows under his belt, including hits as Narcos: Mexico, Making a Murderer, and Peacemaker, to name a few.

In addition to the announcement at the panel, Kiner has confirmed the appointment himself over on Twitter:

They also released the full list of directors for Ahsoka. Check out the list below:

[IMG] Director's list for the Ahsoka series from Star Wars Celebration 2023.

Full list of directors for Ahsoka:

    -Dave Filoni
    -Steph Green
    -Peter Ramsey
    -Jennifer Getzinger
    -Geeta Patel
    -Rick Famuyiwa

Many of these directors were rumored or previously reported, but one familiar name that was not reported on is Rick Famuyiwa. This, of course, makes sense given the connectivity between Ahsoka and The Mandalorian, leading up to Filoni's MandoVerse film. Jennifer Getzinger is also a name that is new to us; she has some hard-hitting shows on her CV, including Mad Men and Westworld. Interestingly, Getzinger has extensive experience directing female-centric shows with strong women leads, such as Outlander, Jessica Jones, The Nevers, Why Women Kill, Candy (maybe a little unhinged, but still strong!), Mad Men, and Westworld. With this information in mind, it's no surprise that she was tapped to direct on Ahsoka.

It was also previously reported that Dave Filoni would be directing multiple episodes on Ahsoka. We believe that's still a safe assumption if you also assume the series will include eight episodes, similar to The Mandalorian. Therefore, it could be that Filoni is directing three episodes in the series. You may also remember that it was previously reported that Bryce Dallas Howard would direct on Ahsoka; however, her name does not appear on this list. It seems they may have shuffled Howard over to Skeleton Crew, based on yesterday's report.

Watch this space for anything else that may trickle in from Star Wars Celebration, and in the meantime, check out the full list of updates from the Ahsoka panel here.
