I'm not afraid of a challenge (besides, they're just opinions that I'm soliciting). I'd probably do it another forum though, such as the "General Movie Discussion" forum.

 

Moot? I would watch the cast walking back to the trailers... this is Star Wars, dude... and that there was live footage...

But, in the broader sense, I think you are missing the point entirely... my best guess is that nobody got good enough, bold enough and stupid enough to sneak a camera on set. This here is a bonafide leak, and it was done to show that the trooper flying through the air wasn't CGI, it was good ol' practical effects

I would recommend against it...

 

I'm more looking forward to the behide the scenes stuff and the making of TFA than i am the movie. I find it very entertaining to see the what could have been, what got cut and why the chose to do that, ect.

I can get behind a Darth Plagueis appearance in the ST, if the explanation is told well.

Remember that in ROTS, Palpatine implied that he killed him. But, what if, he didn't actually killed him? What if Plagueis actually discovered how to cheat death before being allegedly killed and he stayed dormant for many years?

Here's how I speculate on how this could happen:

Palpatine buries his old master somewhere, but, he was actually in a state of unconsciousness that could be re-awaken with a special key/object thanks to a body of dark energy in him with the dark side of the Force proving power (with Palpatine being unaware of all of this). Years later, Kylo Ren, obsessed with Sith artifacts, finds his tomb and to resurrect him, he needs Anakin's lightsaber (with all well-enough reason that it needs to be that lightsaber to unlock and free Plagueis).

I'm sure there is a better way of explaining this eloquently, but yeah, you get the idea.

Now this is something I can get behind.

 

I can see Plagueis figuring out how to cheat death before Palps got him.

I think it'd be interesting if Kylo were Palps son and Plagueis was using Ren as a puppet to return to the living world to destroy everything/everyone. Kylo would be brain-washed into thinking he's a Sith, maybe even some force abilities have been infused into Ren by Plagueis. In later episodes we could see Kylo realizing that he was being used and that his father was the Emperor and HE is the one trying to redeem his father...and defeat Plagueis once and for all.

Or not...I'm pretty bored right now and my mind is drifting.

Is the first part just to lure Anakin in?

Also, there's two explosions in that video. The first is a shadow causer, basically so the actor can move offscreen, the flying stormtrooper is a prop

 

Can anyone see if there is a platform underneath the Stormtrooper to help lift him up when the explosion happens and then the stuntman helps embellish the fall to make it look good? I don't think this is the same Stormtrooper flying in the air as we see in the trailer.

 

This is all I ever take from this. To the casual fan the story of plageus is a story to lure Anaking to the dark side. I feel like revealing Uber as plageus is a mistake that would take too much back story. You have to show that he didn't die and it just muddies up the story.

 

I can't understand flashbacks

What if Sidious was really Plagueis in hiding, and he took his apprentice's identity to mask his true nature?

What if Solo was really Plagueis, and had been waiting on Tatooine for Kenobi to make a move... from there he orchestrated his apprentice's downfall?

Or... what if... what if maybe he is dead?

There is a thread for this... several hundred pages long... and none of it has to do with this leak On topic fellas!

 

I think the fact that Palpatine killed Plagueis "in his sleep" could be significant. Perhaps Plagueis's soul had already left his body, leaving a shell behind that looked asleep. Or perhaps Plagueis was meditating when Palpy killed him, and this act of meditation led him to going elsewhere in the Force...

The fact that Palpatine did not kill Plagueis when he was alert leaves some story openings, basically.

I really like the idea of Plagueis as it would provide a through line tying the three trilogies together.

Is that not sheevs clone flying though the air?

 

Anyone wonder why this footage was leaked now instead of say last year or before second trailer came out? Some suggest that this was "planned" or purposely released now. Whats your opinion? We'd like to know

 

I was beginning to wonder if something like that was actually going on there. He seems to disappear in the bright flash from the angle we see, and I don't see any movement afterwards where he lands, although it is behind another storm trooper.

 

I still think there is a platform under the stormtrooper that propels him which you do see in movies that have explosions and make the person fly in air. Look carefully under the stormtrooper, there is something black that he is standing on and its not the ground. Its some kind of spring board pressurized to give him lift.
