SPECULATION Leia drops Rey on Jakku?

"The Ice Princess". I guess it's part of her Skywalker inheritance. As in the ROTJ junior novelisation about Anakin:

True. Although the point of comparison was the fact that both are children of famous heroes.

 

-If Rey is Leia's daughter, she would have been born in secrecy, then given to someone who Leia trusts and aided in her birth. Leia had seen how Snoke was manipulating Ben and did not want the same to happen to her unborn child. Ben is sent away to Luke, Leia becomes pregnant, then disappears until she gives birth, Rey is then given to Leia's aide to be raised before being left on Jakku. Maybe Lor San Tekka was involved, perhaps leaving Rey with Unkar Plutt, but never really leaving Jakku, as he also had the map to Luke to keep hidden.

-If Rey is Luke's daughter, she was probably left on Jakku by her mother and Luke doesn't know she exists.

Ben would have rather been sent to travel by his father's side instead of being shipped off to Luke where he then felt like his parents abandoned him.

 

One thing that I thought of, and I don't really think it's possible she is Leia's kid, but if she was, was that she was somehow taken before she was born or hidden by Leia with people she trusted. I can't imagine though her doing that, with all she lost, but then maybe it was because she lost so much. I just can't imagine she having a child taken away from her without her knowing, either people thinking she was dead, being the way she is. It just sounds like it would be too complex a story. That inkling is still there as a possibility, but I have pretty much ruled it out.

 

If Luke or Leia dropped off Rey on Jakku and she is a Skywalker, then this family needs to stop having kids! Anakin is a mass murderer, who choked his wife, captured and interrogated his daughter, chopped off his son hand. Padme has twins and then loses the will to live and then gives them up like orphans. Luke & Leia smooched, and then when he told her they were siblings she said, "Somehow I always knew...." Kylo Ren kills his dad in cold blood, and hasn't spoken to his mom, Leia, in years. Poor Rey gets abandoned as a kid...... This family needs to go on Dr. Phil!

 

The Jerry Springer show seems more appropriate

 

Rather than drop her off I would like to see Leia join her on the planet, they could have a good conversation while walking.

 

Some portion of my brain once thought that Rey was the daughter of Leia and Han and that Kylo was jealous of her. They were both sent to Luke's academy and Kylo saw this as his opportunity to finally get rid of Rey and have, in his eyes, one big happy family finally. Maybe Leia and Han thought Kylo killed Rey, maybe Luke lied and then he hid her on Jakku for her safety.

But that was a while ago, and that part of my brain is gone...

 

The novel has and implies that Leia and Rey chat a bit before sending her off. It doesn't say all they talked about. You get the impression that Leia told Rey or that Rey knows who Kylo Ren is to Leia. She fusses over getting her ready. I wonder how many days Rey was with the Resistance before embarking with Chewie to find Luke.

 

The audio book version suggests a male voice for the line 'I'll come back for you sweetheart', so I doubt it is Leia who drops Rey on Jakku.

 

For what we know Ben Solo is also a kid mass murderer.

The odds are against Rey being a Solo. Leia doesn't mention having a daughter in the book Bloodline (which is a book about Leia history and her family). The odds are even further against Leia leaving her daughter on Jakku.

Join her on Jakku? I think that could work...she is "Family" to Leia and maybe that ring Leia wore at the end of TFA may have triggered some more memories that we might see of Rey on Jakku
