For the past year I have found this company online called Ultrasabers that makes very good lightsabers! (Note I'm not trying to advertise I'm informing Star Wars fans of these cool devices) I admit they are not The absolute real thing but here are the things that make Ultrasabers special:
    1. the hilts are made of aircraft-grade aluminum.
    2. the blades are hard plastic that allows a lot of light through and can duel for a while without breaking.
    3. the blade is lit by powerful led lights.
I could go on and on about them but you know what they say, A picture is worth a thousand words.

    My favorite hilt and color.
4.there are several colors to choose from.

    5. Some Ulrasabers come with the Obsidian Sound Board which I heard is the best lightsaber soundboard on the market. what do guys think of thease? here is an ad about them.

There's a guy in Asia which I forgot the name, I think Thailand (?), hand makes them, unfortunately unlicensed, but read they exceed all of the licensed versions in quality and the lighting system beams are as vibrant as the film version.

He also makes personalized customed versions.

I need to find an outlet (if any exist any longer) for resin "finish it yourself" lightsaber hilts. Of course I've skimmed Ebay and found a couple, but not the one I'm looking for....Vaders. It's for my wifes Mara Jade costume for Celebration VII.....anyone??? Thanks.

I own an Ultra Saber its pretty decent. no problems. sorry for this guy though that's gotta be frustrating. i met a guy at the last con i went to who also had an ultra saber, loved it. he ordered the whole package lights, sound, etc. and it was a massive hilt. the blade isnt as bright as i hoped but that also depends on what color you get. i have red. ill take pictures if your interested.
truth is most company's making these sabers are unlicensed. as far as i know the only people who can make true replicas with the star wars name is Ultra Saber and Fx. all others are "non-affiliated". the next time i order ill probably grab a saber forge because i like the designs.

I've got a forceFX Vader. For the money, as a mantle display, it's been fine. I can't see spending $400 plus on a saber, though, unless I was really into cosplay. Then... maybe I'd go balls to the wall.

    That's incredible

How much do these lightsabers (and others made by other manufacturers) go for?

I think Force FX are the least expensive @ $150-$250....others (depending on how customized that you want it built, go up from there!

I've got an Anakin/Luke original blue blade model and a Luke ROTJ model that each cost me $175 on Ebay new in the box.

Jq sabers seems awesome. They have double bladed sabers
FX is run by so many people that there is no specific sabers buying area
    --- Double Post Merged, Dec 16, 2016, Original Post Date: Dec 16, 2016 ---
JQ sabers seems legit. They have double bladed dueling sabers with flash on clash and ok detail but no sound for around 180 dollars

I know that this thread was started a long time ago but I am partial to Vaders Vault. Best quality, but it is two people so turn around time is very slow. This is what I use for my rebel legion Corran Horn.

I do think that if you dont have much money or you want to fence/Choreograph or you need something right now, then Ultrasabers are the way to go. Their grab bag price is unbeatable and they ship super fast. this is what I use for fencing choreogrphy.
