Probably not Jar Jar, but I did notice he said, "Okeeday", and I'm pretty sure the only character we've heard that from is Jar Jar (not to say the other Gungans don't share a similar dialect - but when I read these lines in the comic, all I could hear was Jar Jar's stupid voice). I hope it's not him, but it is certainly possible.

Yep. That's the only character's voice that I was hearing while reading those lines.

Okeeday palo. :) I hope they clarify it also but as a character I don't think there is much more use for him.

Other than fan service, killing him brutally, leaving nothing but poetically withered bones, scattered but preserved beneath the sands of time (Jakku). He is sort of the pinup for prequel hate, so useful as a character in that respect.

Nice review @Hard Case! I felt the Gungan was the weakest part of the story, but I really didn't mind him at all - just wish it was more like Roos Tarpals, the Gungan captain from TPM and TCW, who even sacrificed himself to impale Grievous!

The art style really was shown off in this issue, with the MagnaGuards, the escape from the planet, and the overall story. The gamemaster seems to have Jedi training, in my mind at least. Can't wait to see Dengar, how Boba became so much better than he left the crew, what happened with the rest of them, why he's still really really good, and CHEWBACCA!

I personally like this artist much better, even if things are less detailed. It feels more alive and gestural, more appropriate for the format, rather that "oh, cool drawing of mark hammil" to me. Also, I think the colorist is greatly improving the look of the lightsabers over the first six issues. For a while, Kanan was my favorite new comic, paritally because of the art but also the story. I'm really glad the mothership picked up, these last four issues (Mostly 7, 9 and 10) have been my favorite so far.

I really thought it was Jar Jar while reading the comic. I think it would be great. It would take an unlikeable character and turn him and add depth to him. After order 66 and the empire taking over, Jar Jar had to do something to survive. Refusing to join the Empire or being ineligible, he takes to becoming a smuggler. Now we get to see what toll twenty years of that lifestyle has taken on him! It would be a cool way to breathe life into the character.
