Nice review! Just wanted to point out that the Imperial Guards origins are also discussed in the new canon novel Lords of the Sith and that Korin Pers is an Ugnaught not a warthog;)

I think ALL of the new canon comics will have some relevance to TFA. You probably don't need to read everything to enjoy the movie, but probably having all of the background would make the experience more interesting.

Great series. I'm surprised by how fun it is, considering Lando was never one of my favorite characters in the OT.

Very intriguing! As others have pointed out the mask is VERY clearly based on the canon Bane mask without being a direct copy (maybe another Bane mask or from the same era). A relic mask on a pillar is very reminiscent of Vader's mask in TFA (I don't believe a coincidence), and It has battle damage and a similar shape that reminds me of Kylo's mask - which has been speculated to be a possible relic, and which has been said by Abrams himself to have a backstory in the film (I'm not saying it is the same mask btw).

Still not convinced Snoke is a Knight of Ren. If I recall he was described as a old man, almost like a zombie. With such treasures the Emperor his who is to say he did not know of the KoR? And then a powerful Dark side red guard (Snoke) took control of the Empire and went in search of these warriors. Into the rumored nebulae and back as the First Order.

I know.. I was making a joke about our little Ugnaught friend. It was an early morning review and my extra cup of coffee made me think I was a little funnier than it probably came across:p

Somewhere between old-man zombie and Sauron, me thinks (windu)(guard)(luke)

Very curious about how old the helmet is and who wore it. It would be fun to see a canonical pre-Rule of Two helmet. I like the idea of the ancient Sith being masked and armored warriors.

I wonder if in ancient times, a Sith Lord would receive a mask and armor at the same time that they received a "Darth" name. Considering the connection between the name "Darth Vader" and Vader's mask and armor, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a connection between masks, armor, and the "Darth" title.

What do you mean by "connection?" Do you just mean that we affiliate the name with the look so strongly? Because he didn't get the name and the armor at the same time, and he got them for different reasons.

Maybe Vader's mask and armor were inspired by old Sith Armor designs while also accommodating his breathing equipment. It is certainly designed for more than function and It was designed in a hurry, almost like there was already a plan to give him a suit, or they had old designs to mimic.

This is what I was getting at. There's a "Sith Knight" vibe to Vader's armor.
