My Favourite Shot in the Movie

I loved that shot too. I heard a quote that says if you want to see your future, just look at someone that has been doing what your doing for 10 years longer. Real life example would be you work in an office, coworker has been there 20 years longer, likely you are on the path for the same future. Thats what I saw when Rey looked at the old lady...and she was like hell no!

 

Emotional depth? The final scene with Luke. Mark Hamill gave one of the best performances in the film without even saying a word.

My favorite scene overall is the BB-8 "thumbs up" moment. Don't ask me why, I just love it so much.

I wish they had kept the shot of her watching a family leaving Jakku together...
Would have been a nice set up for later.

 

Did anyone else feel that they used all the money shots in the teasers and trailers? Everything between felt just a little less wow!ish to me. That being said, there were a lot of money shots (I guess the term "money shot" is not what I should be using, I assume it means a shot that cost a lot of money to produce, or does it mean a shot that will drive people to theaters to dispense their money?)

Anyway, some of my favorite shots were:
* The Apocalypse Now! shot of the TIE Fighters
* Luke's face as he turns around to face Rey, that look still haunts me
* Most shots of Rey, she looks so good in this film <3
* Stormtrooper TK-Bond dropping his rifle at Rey's command
* Shot of Kylo's shuttle landing on Jakku, intense

That's quite a lot of the top of my head, and I know I'm forgetting a lot too. In the prequels there were almost no shots that I consider as good as those in The Force Awakens or the original trilogy.

 

That one shot from an X-Wing pilot's perspective.
Holy hell.
I was suddenly 10 again and flying an X-Wing.
Gorgeous!

 

It is a great shot. She plays it well too.

Also, Han and Ben on the bridge in the fading light is just epic. The pilot perspective X Wing shot. And that long sequence of Poe owning the FO on Maz Kanata's planet while Finn looks on was exceptional.

 

Really tough to pick out best scenes as so much of the film was memorable. The ones that make me smile most are the "thumbs up" and Chewie with the nurse. Pretty light stuff but that's what I'm recalling with the greatest fondness right now.

That's an instant classic and it needs to be an emote on the forums

 

I liked the thumbs up as well. Made me chuckle. Poe blowing away the ties on mazs planet was BA as well. But for me it was the surprise on Rey's face when she called the light saber to her hand. She went all in at that point and really started to believe.

Edit : I also laughed when Finn says"we will use the force". And Han was all like "it don't work that way". Pretty funny to me

 

I absolutely LOVED this scene!

 

I was trying to think earlier what my one "Oh, that's the Force Awakens shot" would be
The options I came up with were
1) Partially because it's been in the advertising so much, Rey and BB-8 walking into the desert.
2) Rey's Speeder shooting across the scene as the sun sets (the Star Destroyer one works fairly well, too)
3) Rey and Finn stand in the background while Kylo Ren is in the foreground with his lightsaber on Starkiller.

 

Ironically - seeing as how everyone made such a fuss about us being on another desert planet; Jakku is just like Tatooine all over again, blah blah blah, before the movie came out - I really loved all the stuff on Jakku. I actually wanted the movie to stay there a little longer.

While I really enjoyed the movie and several scenes...my 2 favourite are:
1- Han to Chewi "you're cold?"
2- Chewi going Client Eastwood on the FO after Han's dead.

 

the black star destroyer slowly covering up the planet...
