Hey guys, so I guess this is more of a hope thread than a theory one or something like that. Spoilers for Season One Finale!!!

Also, I apologize if someone has posted a thread like this before.

I just wanted to ask, who do you want to join the crew of the Ghost in Season 2? Or what types of characters do you want to join the crew? I have some hopes and opinions too, and I'll try not to take up too much space talking...anyways, here we go!

I'm really hoping for Rex because I want to see him again and for a second reason I'll talk about down below.

After rereading @Cevan's article about Zare Leonis and the upcoming Servants of the Empire book (see link below), I'm kind of hoping that either Zare or Dhara join the crew. Or both. The reason for them specifically is because, personally, I can't see any other way their arc can end except with them joining the Rebellion. After Zare finds and (assuming he successfully) rescues his sister, where can he go? Back to the Empire? Maybe, but he'd have a harder time staying above suspicion there than he's had in the current books. Besides, it'd give him a friend he can actually talk to on the ship (Hera and Kanan are Team Mom and Dad respectively, Zebb is the big brother who you don't talk to unless you want to be teased, Sabine is the Love Interest, and Chopper is the comedic sociopathic pet IMO).

Dhara on the other hand, would be a fugitive after they break her out. She'd have nowhere to go and be too dangerous to let alone; leaving a half Dark Side trained teenager on her own doesn't seem like a wise idea, especially when you're in a position to do something about it. Even if Zare doesn't join the crew, having Dhara do so could help bring Zare in more often, which is always a plus. Dhara joining the crew would also be good for Ahsoka because then she'd have a little more active role than simply guiding Kanan and Ezra. It would allow everyone on the Ghost (barring Chopper) to have a mentor-ship with someone else - Ahsoka and Dhara with their atypical journeys as Force Users and personal paths, Kanan and Ezra with their Jedi training, Hera and Sabine with their roles in the Rebellion and murky past, and Rex (assuming he joins) and Zebb due to their shared past as elite soldiers.

Dhara could serve a nice foil to Ezra as well, allowing him to see what his life might have been like if Kanan hadn't taken him in, and Dhara could see where her path might lead to. IF THEY WANTED, they COULD do a small love triangle between Dhara, Ezra, and Sabine. Ezra and Dhara would have a bond that Sabine doesn't, and it could lead into some interesting journeys that help Ezra mature some more. Also, if people did ship them, cue the crazy theorizing about Finn's heritage. I don't necessarily want them to go the love route, but I would be remiss if I didn't mention it. Besides, it could end up like most love triangles in The Clone Wars, where one character of the triangle ends up dead. Just a thought.

Other types of characters join the crew - or at least be lasting allies - would be a successful Imperial traitor and a Bothan (spy or not, I just want to see one!). Revisiting races and characters from The Clone Wars would be cool, but other than the ones already seen in the Season 2 trailer, the only ones I can see naturally fitting would be Onderon.

Anyways, I want to hear what you think! What characters should join the crew? What type of character/character trope should join the crew? Let me know!

Interesting, but I think the Ghost crew will remain mostly the same. They might have additional help (i.e., Ahsoka, Lando) on some missions, but no new permanent members. In the first season, the crew did not have much contact with others, but they have now joined the rebellion and will have more interactions.

The way that Zare's story was left open makes me believe that we will see him again. The Ghost crew will probably help Zare find and rescue Dhara. Zare and Dhara will then join the rebellion, but I think they will become members of different cells (e.g., Phoenix Squadron).

Next season, we will also see 501st Clone Troopers (Rex, Gregor) and pirates (Hondo), but I think we will again only see them in a few episodes.

Another story thread that was left hanging in the first season was the fate of Ezra's parents. Tseebo said that he knew what had happened to them, but that information was never revealed. I think that we hear more about them this season.

@Darth Daigo I totally forgot about Tseebo and Ezra's parents! Thanks for reminding me! Yeah, and with Hera, Zeb, and Sabine's background also needing to be explored, I guess we should push the additional crew member speculation off until season three then? :)

I can definitely see Zare joining the Rebellion, but unless Dhara is getting trained off-screen by Ahsoka or someone (and this could very well be the case), I don't see her being any use half trained and/or half indoctrinated. Anyways, thanks for commenting and reminding me of some plot points I forgot!

I'm not sure about new additions. But what is really like to see is someone leave the crew (not the show). Specifically Sabine or zeb. Both characters were underdeveloped in the first season as they are locked in the sidekick role behind mom dad and prodigal son.

Sending one or both of them off ship in an extended arc ( let's say they have a falling out or go on a deep cover mission) of 6 or so episodes before reuniting with the ghost at a pivotal moment would do a lot to allow us a better look at those characters.

Shifting stand alone focus to side characters can only do so much. But putting them on their own in an extended b-story gives them a chance to show what they are and will allow people like Ashoka or Zare to come on board for a bit without crowding the already overloaded cast.

    Just my thoughts though.

Other than Ezra and especially Kanan with his comic, the others need and reportedly are getting much needed back story. It seems Rex does join, but only the Rebellion, and works with the Ghost crew, and since many of us watched TCW, back story isn't as important. I do think Zare joins them by end of season 2, he is a very interesting character to me.

It's a really nice idea, but where could it go without getting a bit too 'Firefly'?....
