I bet the wings rotate 90 degrees on the Y-axis. This would be the landing position, They will rotate 90 degrees forward or backward during flight.

I bet so as well, or at least think it's a good possibility. They've already had one designed in a similar manner for the Mandalorians.

"The Kom'rk-class's wings alternated between an upright landing position when grounded, and a horizontal configuration while flying in the atmosphere or space.[4] While in flight, the wings could also rotate around the vessel's main body, allowing for increased maneuverability."

I like it. I like pretty much everything I've seen with Episode VII -- Sithcalibur, BB-8, Rey's speeder, new X-Wings, new Ties, new stormtroopers. IMO it screams SW just 30 years later = PURE WIN!

I'll echo you Echo. I've liked pretty much all I've seen as well, and it does seem like they're sticking close enough to the OT while tweaking some things just a tad to make it fresh... or sometimes drawing a little inspiration from the old EU, which would still be "fresh" for those unfamiliar with those particular things.

Star Wars has always been awesome for ships, both the exciting and the mundane. I'm really digging this style, if they are going for things like that.

I'm digging this. Based on the proportion of the cockpit to the guards standing near it I don't think its large enough to be the transport that the troopers are in during the teaser scene. I'm thinking this ship might play a part similar to Darth Maul's Scimitar. Hopefully not as short lived though.

My thing with the tie fighters in general, esp. the concept art of the new imperial officer version is, the panels on either side of the cockpit seem to hinder the pilots left and right view.

Yes, it's a design that doesn't really work outside of a fantasy space opera :) Same with the Biker Scout helmets. "Here's your bike, now go race at 1000mph through the woods. Oh, and here's the helmet..."

The inquisitors seem to be a high ranking group in the Rebels episodes and might also be associated with the color red. This being an inquisitor transport might explain the paint job on a unique tie fighter.

I do not think the imperial guards fit very well in the expected TFA storyline. I would not expect another politician/soldier would carry enough clout as Palpatine did and have his own personal subcategory of storm trooper as guards. They could always be the force sensitive recruits from Rebels that are mentioned above.

Yeah, also that sequence seems to consist of ground-level stormtroopers on a ruff ride into war-zone.

    This transport is elitistic.

Just had a revelation: perhaps the guards we see here at the bottom of the ship are related to these people in the final movie:

Star Wars Underworld has revealed this Lego set based on what they and Making Star Wars believe to be Kylo Ren's ship:

While the concept art may be for a still unknown ship, it would appear the concept art was an early build of Kylo Ren's ship. Makes you wonder about the Royal Guards though. Perhaps in the movie they have been replaced by First Order leaders?

It looks like an imperial shuttle which hasn't unfolded yet.

Looks pretty legit to me from a visual point of view, the model itself looks legit, too. Even the crappy launchers are shown, which seem to be in almost every Lego Star Wars set for quite some time now. I have to say I'm not that much into this design, I like the more streamlined or TIE-fighter like ships more. But lets not be quick to judge and wait until we get more info/pictures on this one.

That the fighter is completely gray is a giveaway that in fact it's NOT legit. Also the Photoshop work on the "box" isn't even good. The background with the explosions is laughably bad.
