Lucasfilm has released a new TV spot for The Mandalorian, including a few slightly different shots of scenes already seen in episodes 1 and 2, as well as of yet-to-be-seen Imperial cloning expert Dr. Pershing.

The new image of Pershing is a different angle from a scene that was revealed in the trailer. It shows Dr. Pershing in a large city, looking up at the sky with interest. Check out the spot below:

Many will assume this city planet is Coruscant, but we can’t know for sure. It may also be Hosnian Prime, notable capital of the New Republic by the time The Force Awakens happens, or other planets with massive urban settings, such as Chandrila. In the brief shot, Dr. Pershing is looking up at the sky in either fascination or perhaps vigilance. The last time we saw Dr. Pershing, he was assisting Din, Bo-Katan, and crew with rescuing Grogu from Moff Gideon. We know Moff Gideon was turned over to the New Republic, so that may have been Dr. Pershing’s fate as well.

Based on our time with Moff Gideon, it seems unlikely he would have willingly shared any information regarding the Empire’s secret cloning program. Dr. Pershing, on the other hand, seemed far more interested in self-preservation than Imperial advancement, and may have coughed up some information. It’s even possible that he has entirely switched sides.

There’s not much I love more in Star Wars than marveling at a vibrant cityscape, no matter what planet we’re on. I expect we’ll learn more about the Empire’s cloning program this season even if the New Republic doesn’t, and the cityscape backdrop sets a perfect moody stage for such a shadowy subject matter. Fingers crossed.

In other news, episode 3 is rumored to have a longer runtime of 56 minutes and 11 seconds (hat tip @Cryptic4KQual on Twitter). Episodes 1 and 2 had runtimes of ~37 minutes and 44 minutes, respectively. It’s possible that Bo-Katan and Din will need those extra minutes to hash out a plan after the big reveal in episode 2.

Head on over to our review of episode 2 if you haven't yet, and watch this space for more news on The Mandalorian, now streaming on Disney Plus.
