One week into The Mandalorian season 3, audience demand numbers have been published by Parrot Analytics concerning the time window of Feb. 25 - March 3. Via MediaPlayNews.com, the Disney Plus series rose in the charts from previous weeks to the #1 spot on the streaming list (and #3 on TV overall), scoring an online demand 64.2 times higher than the average series (a 35.7% increase).

By audience demand, Parrot Analytics understands anything that documents an online presence, but that is different from views (which they can't measure) -- from social media posts to articles published online to even piracy. Viewership numbers remain a mystery, as Disney Plus refuses to report them, but there is typically a correlation between audience demand and number of people that tuned in to watch the series. Note that the aforementioned time window only includes three days in which the new season of The Mandalorian was available.

With The Mandalorian being essentially a flagship series for not only Star Wars, but Disney Plus in general, high demand was to be expected, but it is hard to find something to compare these numbers with. The Pedro Pascal-led series barely beat out Netflix's Stranger Things, and came well ahead of Ted Lasso, which scored the #3 spot and is about to release its third season on Apple TV Plus. As always, these numbers tell only a partially-complete story; we will get a more accurate sense of how The Mandalorian is doing in the US by the time Nielsen reports viewership numbers a few weeks from now.

New episodes of The Mandalorian are released every Wednesday on Disney Plus. Look forward to our review.

I have a very hard time believing HBO's The Last of Us wasn't in the top ten.

Yeah, after I am leery of any statistics I see blared online as "the truth".

Exactly. The whole "audience demand" metric seems ripe for faulty information... If it's based on most online mention and discussion, etc... you would have to think that The Last of Us would be right there in the top 3... Stranger Things? Really?
Is Parrot Analytics the same org that caused all the noise by saying how poorly Andor was doing and then pulled a 180 and said it had done great?
