(No Spoilers) My feelings on the Movie

Good to hear. It's been like a roller coaster all day here on the forum. Opinions could not vary any further then they are. I've read things on the net and here is the forum like: "My heart is broken" to "It's TPM mark II" all the way to "It's better then Jedi". Something in this movie is either delighting fans, or pissing them off big time; I'm guessing a certain character isn't in the film long enough? or you know, the fate of certain characters, etc? Are people really hating the movie for these reasons alone? From what I've read of the positive comments, it seems like this is the best acted Star Wars movie EVER! How can we have four to five stand out performances and people hate the movie? It's mind boggling to me. I see it on Friday, yay!

Absolutely.
The cast did a phenomenal job.
In fact, one of the first things I said on my way home was "Daisy Ridley had a better performance than Mark Hamill did in A New Hope."

I cannot fault any of the technical aspects of the film.

 

I definitely enjoyed it.


Snoke looked like a real bad ass

 

they made luke a 30 year pity party, inconsistent with his character and the explanation we get fails to change that. too many stupid character decisions. R2 conveniently wakes when the plot demands it. seriously wtf happened in the writing department?

 

I'm glad just like Sidious was.

 

the best of all time is a stretch.. id put it solidly behind ESB and ANH.. it was on par with ROTJ but without the ewoks.. but believe me.. thats high praise coming from an original trilogy obsessive. this movie is legit.. you will not be disappointed.
all the new characters are great.. the story is great.. albeit a little confusing (it asks as many questions as it answers) but thats perfectly fine.. i want more.. and thats what the first of a trilogy is for.

Wow. I'm as big a star wars fan as anyone, but in all honesty is out it on par with AOTC. Great acting by the new guys but the OT guys are embarrassing. The plot is lazy and Snoke is shockingly bad.

 

You cannot be serious.. a couple of ropey lines from leia/han and you compare it to AOTC?

 

Agreed its a phenomenal film will only grow fonder with each view due to the amount to absorb on screen

Got to see it yesterday, and to keep it short:
It is the best Star Wars movie of them all, with ESB as a ( very ) close second.

 

I'm shocked at how poor this film was.

Harrison Ford was a parody of Han Solo.

Carrie Fisher struggled to speak.

Snoke looked ridiculous. Fake. Really really bad.

The Kylo character didn't make sense.

Rey's use of the Force contradicts the other films.

The music was bland.

A lot of the dialogue was weak.

Characters went missing.

There wasn't a climax to the film.

The low point of the movie for me is the part of the story when Han shows up... it felt like filler in a movie that, in my opinion had plenty of other story beats which could have been a little more fleshed out, and given time to breathe.

You did watch the prequels... right?

 

We got another troll here. Guys that movie was awesome you will not be disappointed at all. Adam Driver and Daisey Ridley stole the movie

I agree that this was, in many ways, THE greatest SW Movie ever. Was it the best one? Still not sure. A good sign is that me and my best buddie held hands and cried together multiple times!

 

Really liked it! So much better than the PT. However, wasn't sold on Snoke. Maybe will grow on me after 2nd viewing tonight, but just looked like poor LOTR cgi to me.
