I felt that Leia was back in the Jakku Message.

Fisher did great in that scene, I bought her as Leia

so, old school Star Wars..

Why cut this, ugh

 

I really like "Finn and the villager", "Kylo searches the Falcon" and "Jump to lightspeed".

I wish these scences were in the movie.

 

ya, well that so called 'pacing' scene of the ships taking off was pretty darn upsetting to me, lol

 

The Villager scene should have been kept in I think .

 

i like the Leia scene, but i like her reveal on Takodana more, so i'm okay with sacrificing it.
the others i think were fine to cut ~ no big loss.

except that firkin Millenium Falcon scene. but it's hard to have objectivity about it.
while i wish it had been included after the fact of experiencing the movie without it, i do think it telegraphs perhaps too much if the intention was to shock us on the bridge.

 

That Jakku message video and the Finn is going to be fine should have been in the movie. It was dramatic to have Leia be first shown coming off the transporter, but it still would be if they left her scene in. The Falcon scene too, but I understand why they left it out, not giving too much to the audience.

Yeah, they were the best ones. But the only one that I wish was in the movis is Kylo in the falcon.

 

Han in Maz's tunnel scene was very humorous.

The Finn and the Villager scene was redundant in my opinion. We see he doesn't shot anyone after they have rounded up the villagers and that scene was more impactful because of the response of Kylo.

I liked the Falcon and Hyperspace scenes the most and while I liked the speeder scene I just don't think it would have fit in well.

 

I think Jakku Message is my favorite deleted scene. Any time Snap Wexley is on screen he steals the scene.

I completely agree. She did seem a little creepy in this scene. Which is weird because she seems like she has great bedside manner in that scene with Chewie.

 

Finn and the Villager, Jakku Message and Snowspeeder chase are all decent but don't really need to be in the film..

Finn will be fine I really like, but the nurse talking to Rey delivers the line in a kind of weird way, I really think the rest of the scene before could have been included in the film

I suppose Jump to Lightspeed doesn't need to be there, but it's a really cool old fashioned little scene

Kylo on the Falcon I like, but it feels awkward and short - there needed to be a little more dialogue between Kylo and the Snowtroopers, maybe like this:

Trooper: What should we do with this old junk? Relocate it, destroy it, break it down into spare parts, or-

Kylo: (being nostalgiac) No!.. no, just leave it, as it is...

Trooper: Er, as you wish sir? Move out, move out

Troopers shrugging as Kylo is moody and weird

Still a cool scene though

 

Han Solo in Maz's castle.

It's fantastic, but I think I would not have liked it actually in the movie - it's a bit too comedic.

 

It looks like Leia had a ponytail thing going on during the shooting. I wonder if they had to paint that out of every shot?

 

None of these scenes make me wish they were part of the finished film, so I guess from my POV it's a good thing they were cut.
I can, however, imagine a few scenes that I wish were shot. Not to slow down the pacing per se, but to give the film a more rounded quality; just a line spoken here and there to better ground the many new characters in the setting. For example, a line that reveals that Hux's family is a rich aristocrat family which fuels the First Order (this would give Hux a) just the tiniest bit of background b) make his role more believable

 

I'm still confused as to why they didn't even release the Korr Sella scenes or the scene with Leia and Maz. It was in the trailers!

It's funny, but pointless.

I don't understand why none of these scenes are actually complete. This is just a clip from a longer scene, with Maz Kanata taking out the stormtroopers with her "special skills" (as reported on MSW eons ago).

I'm starting to get the feeling there will be an "Ultimate" Blu-ray release with longer, more substantial deleted scenes.
