I am beginning to think that it's quite possible that the planet the First Jedi Temple and Luke is on is Rakata Prime, mostly based on the map provided as canon and in the movie maybe it's a bit farfetched, but to me I believe we are looking at Rakata Prime as the planet Luke and the first Jedi Temple is on. It makes sense if you put the star maps in alignment together like that, also Rakata Prime does make sense if Rey is his daughter and why he left her on Jakku, it's close enough to where he can come to her or she can come to him when the time is right

Edit: Also in Knights of the Old Republic game, Rakata Prime is a very watery and islandy world so it would make sense for this to be Rakata Prime.[IMG]

Is the yellow line every explained in the movie? Is it supposed to be the route that Luke took to get to the planet he went to?

I don't remember anyone discussing the yellow line, but I would assume that would be the hyperspace route he took to get there.

Just me, or did the trip from the Resistance base to Luke's planet feel REALLY quick?

All the planets were ten minutes away tops. I guess they are going to ignore speed limits this trilogy.

I don't know what planet he's on, but it must be sweet. It helped the hero if the OT turn his back on his sister, best friend, nephew, Rey, and several planets that were destroyed.

    Great restaurants?

I'm assuming the new planet will serve as VIII's Dagobah.

Bit of a stretch connecting this to KOTOR/EU. I would love it, however It's very doubtful.

I'm leaning more & more towards this being an entirely original planet.

I also believe Rian Johnson will not make the mistake JJ did in TFA, & will properly enunciate the titles of planets. It was not very clear what planets were part of TFA except Jakku IMO.

    Opinions on this?

Well Rakata Prime is a canon planet now, so it would make sense to tie it into the movies.

As @Lord Skywalker says it's canon, plus we know from the movie dialogue that it's not on any star chart. From looking at the official star chart for the movie, Rakata Prime is the only planet on it that is not likely to appear on any star chart the resistance have.

My brother and I have been supporting this theory since the map was released, and after seeing the movie, I'm almost convinced. C'mon Rian, throw a bone for us KotOR fans....

In the old EU wasnt the home of the Jedi Tython or something? If they were going to use anything from Legends i think it would be that and since Lucas changed Korriban to Moruband anyway, theyll likely make up something new.

I think the "yellow brick road" on the map is the map of all Jedi temples. Imperials would have it because presumably Palpatine went on to find, destroy or erase from history all of them after the Order 66.

Wasn't the FIRST Jedi Temple built on Tython actually? Rakata Prime is nice, but pretty much secondary choice.

We'll see what they decide to be a canon.

OH MY GOD! forgive me I didn't bother clicking the map, Wow? so Rakata Prime is canon? You would think KOTOR1/2 & TOR would be considered CANON now? Because the writing, story and character designs for the Kotor games are purely some of the greatest in Star Wars lore! Even the soundtrack is sooo good! I would like to think that Kylo's helmet pays homage to Revan's mask aswell, I really hope they connect the dots with this one!

Well, personally, I interpreted the line on the map as a route left by Luke intentionally in Artoo so he could be found at some point that he thought it was necessary to be found...by the right person at the right time?

Also, Rakata Prime is very close to Jakku. It's surely on the star map. So, maybe Luke's planet is on a watery planet in "a galaxy far far away" from where the main events from TFA take place?

Hidalgo confirmed that it's a planet we haven't seen before, so it isn't Rakata Prime or any Legends planet.

Anyway, it would be cool if the early Jedi were like this:

    image.jpg

A bunch of primitive, Buddhist-like Yodas who meditated together and ended up discovering The Force.
