Jar Jar is always the easy answer when asked which SW is your least favorite. But are there worse offenders (from the PT OR OT?)
I posted about my choice in another thread and on my profile, and another forum user suggested I make it into a thread. So here goes! Post the worst offender and explain why/what makes them worse than Jar Jar.

This is it. I've hated this thing from the moment I read about it in a book before seeing TPM. I remember thinking....what is this abomination doing in SW? NOoooooo. The moment I saw Fodesinbeed was the moment I truly "got a bad feeling" about TPM.

This is actually a tough question since I can usually find something to admire about any Star Wars character, even ones I don't care for. I'm not a huge Boba Fett fan but I get why people like him. Padme had her dull moments but she also had some neat storylines. Lobot is....Lobot.

But here is why I think this *thing* is the absolute worst...It is only saved by restricted screen time.

    1. CGI. Already points lost. I am and will always be a practical effects enthusiast. However, I like Watto's design and appreciate some of the CGI characters enough though I prefer costumes and muppets.

    2. IT'S A POP CULTURE REFERENCE. In Star Wars. It's a frickin reference to ESPN. No.Bad, Lucas! Bad!

    3. The "humor" associated with this character belongs in something like Shrek or Smurfs 2. It's not funny and pointless.

    4. It's ugly and creepy. It doesn't look like a Star Wars alien. The faces creep me out, but not in a cool way like Bib Fortuna or Doctor Evazan.

    5. It just doesn't belong in Star Wars. If I saw it on a random google search before seeing the film, I would never think it was part of the Star Wars universe.

So, do you have any characters you feel are worse than Jar Jar? Why? Explain and or show the worst offenders of the Star Wars universe.

What if the CGI was better? As in 2015 Photorealistic CGI like Davy Jones from The POTC franchise or from ILM's new xLabs?

And remember, the humor was on purpose to appeal to a wider audience...its just a general attractiveness to make more BO/merch revenue in Hollywood as a whole.

As for my character, I would probably have to say Darth Maul, because of his cheesy name, no character development, his VO dialogue a la Vader, and robotic legs...like --- REALLY?! But I get it. Amazingly beautiful fighting style, though.

Also, the character you picked looks like someone who had a large real-world dosage of radiation :p

I don't have any problem with this two heads character.

    I vote for Hayden's Anakin.

We know that the story was no good, the scrip and lines are poor, but also Hayden Christensen is a bad actor. In my opinion his anoying Anakin beats Jake Lloyd...hahahah

I don't know if better CGI would have saved it! My biggest problem with the character isn't the CGI, my problem is that it is a pop culture reference. (I like the CGI design of Watto and Boss Nass.) It seems more fitting for a Shrek movie or an animated Disney character like Genie etc. Pop cultures jokes just don't belong in SW! It's such a nod ESPN sports announcers. I think if they were speaking in another alien language and the design was a little different, I wouldn't feel so strongly about it. I wish the announcer set up was a little more "alien" as well, not something that resembles earthly television....::/

Just read it in the wookipedia.

Jake Lloyd...now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time...I used to be able to say that Anakin Skywalker was my CoD friend.

I like her original version. The CGI cartoon singing into the camera is a quite silly.

In regards to ESPN, I saw "Blended" with Adam Sandler on Friday evening and one of his daughters is named after ESPN pronounced "Espen" but I thought it's a cute name. Maybe it might make some sense to you in that context for TPM, but then again, I agree with you on many points.

Sy Snootles is a cool character in my opinion, but just the puppet from the original version.

That is very cute! :) Sadly, the creature is not haha. It's not even really a bad idea, it just doesn't fit with Star Wars to me. It would've worked in plenty of Disney cartoons. It kinda adds to the Jar Jar antics, the forced kiddie humor, and "poodoo" comedy that distracted from some of the good points of TPM!

Anakin in Episodes II and III. Just for the sheer fact that they destroyed what his character could've been and just made him a complete dumbass who can't act. At least Jar-Jar was only in the first movie for moments and then one moment in II.

Something that is timeless, classic, and in a galaxy far, far, away. Any pop culture references can take one out of that illusion.

I think that it was probably a way for a younger audience to get involved or for ordinary parents to tolerate a laugh here and there. Also, that was how the trend was in movies in general at the time with cheese like that. That's why you don't see, really, anymore pop culture references in AOTC and in ROTS, the same reasons why you don't see Jar Jar in AOTC and ROTS, where he has literally one sentence in AOTC and two dialogue-less scenes in ROTS.

I read somewhere that Lucas purposely made anakin that way, and I think I remember Lucas saying something about it in a featurette in AOTC.

I don't have just one cause there are two things that I would just love to completly erradicate fron SW and they are these dorks:
    Dannik_Jerriko_G1.jpg

    dr evazan.jpg

Just looking at them makes me want to toss them down the Sarlaccs maw yet I worry it would suffer indigestion. I wouldn't even like to see these guys frozen in carbonite! I'd toss them down to Mustafar's largest volcano just to make sure that not even their ashes could be found!
