SPOILER Rebels Season 3 EP 14: "Trials of the Darksaber"

Sabine > Ezra and the show needs to embrace it.

 

Dont think they would destroy the darksaber. Holds alot of meaning. plus it was mentioned in R1 so my guessing is that they are in search of it but thats just what i think...

 

What parallels besides that they are both women? I dont see any. There were no indications throughout the whole series that she might become a leader of this kind, then in that episode on Dathomir she just randomly grabs the saber (because why not, right? poor writing.), and now she's suddenly the chosen one to lead Mandalore. This is too forced for me.

 

Ehhh. I dont think so. If she can unlock the force then maybe at this stage they are equal. The only reason why I think Ezra is greater is cause he is force sensitive and can tap into either sides of the force. we had a glimpse of him doing that in the begining of the season so the anger and fear of the darkside is capable in Ezra. We Ezra got mad at Sabine for using extra weapons you got alil mad and you kno Ezra gets all aggressive when pushed...

 

It's not really a question of them being equally powered or anything. She has been better since the show start essentially. She's a compelling character. He's...Luke. She offers more difference and new things. It's just about character development and writing. They write her better.

I got cha. This season is especially this episodes shows more of Sabine and her upbringing. I took it as from just wielding the saber standpoint. She is a mandalorian so she takes the abilities that are given from her training and growth. We dont really see alot of Sabine in the begining of Rebels so her story as of late has been a growing thing. I see it from your point of view though. She part with the Rebels crew is a significant one cause she is able to unite mandalore to help fight for what is right.

What a epic episode, I was fighting back tears during the final minutes of it, hearing Sabine's explanation for her beef with her family reminds me of someone I knew.

 

I didn't say chosen one and no she is going to start leading the planet by next episode, but she has Intelligence and skill and necessity. That's what makes leaders in many situations. The parallel to Leia is a family situation has forced her to take on a greater role. With Leia I thought it was pretty clear when her father and whole planet was blown up her level of responsibility changed. The rebellion is an alliance with multiple leaders but she took on more of a leadership roll. Sabine already stood up for her people and was forced into Exile. Now she is stronger she has the right clan name the saber and and has the allies to make a return and vie for leadership starting with her clan. If she gets the clan then she can get more.

 

I have feeling Bendu played his part in that.

 

Well, I think we won't come to an agreement on this one. Good talk, anyways.

 

Bendu is another really good character so that would make sense.

 

I'm starting to like the series.

 

For those that want to know, Tiya let slip something at celebration anaheim 2 years ago. I wish I didn't hear her say it.

She said that the ghost was her family "for now". The whole crowd was like 'ohhhh'. The look on Dave's face was priceless. Tiya tried to play it off, pretty badly. She said something like "I didn't mean anything by that"

 

Great, great episode! Sucks we have to wait almost a month for the next new episode! Hopefully that's a good sign that the next episode till the sedan finale will get increasingly awesome!

 

When was it mentioned in R1?

 

Even though sabine is not FS she has way more of an itnertong backstory than the Jedi an I'm glad it's being explored

 

When they are searching through directories on the data drive on scarif.

 

That was "Black Saber" and it was a project code name. It could have something to do with the Darksaber or it could be something completely unrelated. It's not really clear.

 

This had the most heart i've ever seen from an episode of Rebels
