I haven't seen the latest season yet, although I really should. Could someone tell me how well Thrawn is in Rebels compared to how is in the EU? Is he the same or different? Has Disney impressed you with his resurrection?

Well, I think it's a little unfair to compare them at the moment, as Rebels is a kids show. Certain story elements have been simplified, and feats he may have accomplished much faster in the books have been stretched out to help fill the 22 episode count. He still is the same character at his core though, but I feel like we won't truly be able to compare them until Thrawn is released later this year.

He hasn't done much on the show. He mostly pops up and the end of unrelated episodes and says "all is according to my plans" and twirls his mustache.

He can't be that similar of a character IMO. He was special in the books for being the underdog. He had to use his brilliance to win back the galaxy. The rebels are a small group and thrawn has the full might of the empire behind him.

Doesn't give a lot of opportunity for brilliant maneuvers, and if he does, it is just further crushing an already weaker opponent.

I'm ignorant to the stories of Thrawn in the EU, but his iconic image and his reputation obviously proceeds him. Even without reading the stories he was involved in, tales from friends reassure me of his genius. The show "Rebels" better do him justice. I find a lot of similarities between Thrawn and Xizor for one reason or another as well........another EU character I hope to see some remnants of in the future if possible. As a die hard Boba Fett fan, I was extremely pissed with the way they portrayed young Boba and his story in "The Clone Wars" series, so they better not mess up Thrawn too. Respect the EU! Even J.J. Abrams respected the EU to a very fine degree in making TFA.
