How do you think the jedis in TFA will compare to the jedis in the Republic era in terms of skills and knowledge of the force?

During the Republic days, before the empire, jedis were trained from childhood and were schooled and mentored by several full fledged jedi masters. Hence, the twirling and jumping and what not. After the purge, the jedis were all but extinct. We do not know how many jedis have been taught by Luke after the Battle of Endor, if there was any.

Will we see jedis and siths properly wield a lightsaber, will we see force powers used to full effect?

I'm figuring they'll go for a mix of the OT-style and the PT-style, in that it'll be a a bit slower and less dazzling, but in a way more emotional and tense. Concerning Ren, what little we've seen of him and his lightsaber so far seems to suggest his style will be less about finesse and more about sheer leverage.

I'd like for them to keep the number of lightsaber wielders to be relatively few, and perhaps to have them progress over the three movies as they train or gain experience. The PT-era was an excuse to go all-out and give the people eye candy.
