I mentioned this on a thread in in the TFA section, but figured it would be appropriate here.

Heard a rumor on Friday that there will be a Rey young adult novel series released in early-2016. It will take place before the events of TFA.

The broad description I have would be considered SPOILER territory since it gives away backstory I'm assuming will be covered in TFA.

    You've been warned.

The plot concerns how she was orphaned, trained as a Jedi, and how she became the person we meet in TFA. Apparently Luke took her as an apprentice at a very young age and her parents were killed shortly after her departure by the "villain" who showed up on their doorstep looking for their Force sensitive little girl. The books will focus on her subsequent, but brief training as a Jedi, and how she made her way through the Galaxy after Luke mysteriously vanishes. I know it sounds kind of Harry Potter, but I'm sure it will be anything but.

That's what they call new slave girl tryouts at Jabba's palace.

    That Rancor is hungry!

Just wanted to give this thread a bump since my source told me about this a month ago and now actual details are coming out. I believe this series about Rey is the same as the post TFA novels being discussed on SW7N and MSW.

Or January. Not long after the release of TFA.

Luke was an orphan too in A New Hope. From a certain point of view.
