CGI tarkin...Jesus.
I won't even talk about Leia.
And I thought Vader was supposed to be in the film?

I'm chalking all films post Lucas as fan films/EU.

Cool. Lucasfilm really did pull from all existing canon (and some EU) for this movie, it seems! Kudos to them.

 

Loved it.

I thought most characters were fleshed out well. Pacing was fine, barely noticed the run time.

The title card was really bad, and it was obvious the score wasn't Williams.

Vader's scene at the end blew my hair back,

For me, this movie is a easy 8.5/9 out of ten.

 

CGI Leia.

 

That's just.....unsettling a little IMO, Leia doesn't really look to good here. The tech is good, I hope it's just the potato quality image here

Yeah i agree, Tarkins voice was spot on.
I dd feel like i was watching a video game for a few brief moments of Tarkin and Leia

 

Just back from first viewing.
Positives:
.The Vader scene is fantastic but far too short
.The last 30-40 minutes of the movie are great, pure star wars
.The space battle is right up there with the ones in the OT
.Loved the easter eggs, blue milk, characters from cantina, footage of red and gold leaders, P0 and R2
. Bail and Mon Mothma speaking about Obi Wan, loved that little chat

Negatives:
.The start, no crawl, it was awful.
. the music was horrible, at no time did it sound like a Star Wars movie and it was very distracting.
. Tarkin's CGI was quite startling and took me out of the movie a bit, this may be different on 2nd viewing, it wasn't bad, just different, Leia's actually looked great as well but you knew it wasn't her.
.The middle of the movie dragged out, not enough happening.
. Too many characters, not enough time to flesh them out, we really only needed Andor, Jyn and K2SO with soldiers.

I liked it but needs a second viewing but do feel a little bit disappointed in the ending, Jyn walks to activate the data transfer...Krennic walks round the corner and then Andor shoots him, sooooo predictable.

Lots missing from the movie that were in Trailers, no Tie rising up to meet Jyn at end of bridge, No Krennic or Troopers in the water, at times i really struggled to understand Saw Gerrera. Overall i give it a solid 7/10 and think the movie could have benfitted from takiong 20 minutes out of the middle of the movie and removing a couple of characters, the end third of the movie saves it though....i won't be seeing it multiple times like i did with TFA but will wait on Bluray in April

 

Does Leia speak at all in the film? Is Obi-wan, Yoda or the Jedi mentioned at all? What about the Republic?

Did they just get really good voice actors for Tarkin and Leia, or did they use some kind of audio counterpart to the visual stuff to make it sound as close as possible?

Very disappointed after last night's Rogue One showing. I feel like everybody is jumping on the 'It's so awesome!" bandwagon, blinded by another STAR WARS nostalgia trip. It was surprisingly weak and contains more than one flaw that pulls it closer to the prequels. Full review later.
