GAME Rogue One - WILL STAND ALONE MOVIES BECOME THE MAIN ATTRACTION?

It is hard to say. Another 4 years at least IMO. In 2014 it make over 100 million dollars.

I can't find great current results. The link below indicates that it is still in the 100 million ballpark. I'd guess it has to lose 90% of the subscribers to be forced to shut down, economically.

 

I think they will become the main attraction. There are so many possibilities out there. I think Rogue One raised the bar and set the tone for what a good Star Wars movie could be. That being said, there will probably be other trilogies non-Skywalker related (KOR, Journal of the Whills, something along those lines).

Every negative thing said about VII can b backed up. Now yes I can c the SO movies becoming more popular ESPECIALY if it dumps the Skywalker legacy in favor of Rey Unrelated.

Care to explain why Mr. Plinkett never mentioned that 'problem' once?

If you want to see a real Mary Sue, I strongly encourage you to pay attention to Jean Grey in X-Men: Apocalypse. Rey has to rescued several times in this film: twice by Finn and once by Chewie (twice if you count the deleted arm rip scene).
She has poor social skills and fails to sway Finn from leaving. This directly leads to a negative consequence:


Her lightsaber 'skills' are bunk; she gets knocked around for most of the fight and she wins by 'pump faking' Kylo Ren into a high guard while going for his legs.

And something else a lot of people don't bring up:
Rey has been fighting every day of her life since she was dropped off on that death trap world (aka Jaaku.) They say life experience is the best teacher. Her skill with that staff matched a lightsaber's fighting moves very well.
