Sequel trilogy to sequel trilogy

I was disappointed that Episodes X-XII wasn't announced at D23 this year. But there's always SW celebration in April 2017 before Episode VIII comes out or April 2019 before Episode IX comes out. I know they won't be made until 2021 or 2025. But I'd like to hear some confrmation from Disney/LFL that Episodes X-XII will happen since someone named Gabriel over at Twitter confims they are guaranteed to happen. They are being tallked at TF.N's Jedi council forums.

I have some news though that at the website American Movie Addict.com that although we all know this but it says that Colin Trevorrow will direct Episode IX "as the end of the first sequel trilogy". Episodes X-XII will happen after all???

 

I don't think many are doubting it, to be honest.

 

I think that are a certainty that Episodes X-XII will happen because the Jedi Order in the ST will likely increase starting with Rey and Finn. But will there be more force sensetive people appearing later in the ST for Luke to train and if Luke dies in Episode IX which he likely do. Will he pass the task of rebuilding the Jedi Order to Rey and Finn at the end of Episode IX to foreshadow a future conflict that will emerge in the SST? Likely an invasion from outside the GFFA or a new Sith army? Will the Jedi Order increase to hundreds or thousands at the end of the ST or won't it happen till the SST(Episodes X-XII)? I suspect the latter. And I think that Episodes X-XII will be made and released from 2021 through 2025.

 

It has been rumored that Rey and Finn are not either related to the Skywalker or the Solos. So if the ST will close out the story of the Skywalker family. Will Episodes X-XII be a Legacy trilogy with Rey and Finn start a new saga with Episodes X-XII and beyond to even Episodes XIII-XV?

Also I still suspect that although Luke will start the New Jedi Order in the ST. He probably won't live pass Episode IX and may pass the traning of the New Jedi Order onto Rey and Finn and the Jedi Order won't increase to hundreds or thousands till the SST(Episodes X-XII).

 

I wonder if the First Order will be defeated in Episode IX. Will there be remnants that will fight the New Republic in the Sequel Sequel Trilogy(Episodes X-XII)? And also it has been hinted or rumored that there could be other Imperial Factions lurking around the galaxy. Could there be other Imperial Factions that could appear to challenge the New Republic in Episodes X-XII or even beyond? I sure hope so.

 

I actually am going to be the contrarian here and say that I think Disney has no real intention of continuing numbered trilogies once Episode IX is in the can. They're trying to go the Marvel Cinematic Universe route here, and make as much money from every Star Wars movie as they possibly can. They HAD to relaunch with a new trilogy, but continuing them alongside the anthology films would be a bad idea, since it will automatically make the anthologies seem less relevant. I would be willing to bet that after Episode IX it's just going to be various spin-offs and more universe-building, with new, non-Skywalker focused movie trilogies that intersect and move around much like the Marvel movies do. Otherwise they have to keep feeding the beast with Skywalker movies, and they have to keep coming up with new ways to make that particular generational saga interesting, with new actors (since I doubt Boyega, Ridley, and Isaac have signed on for more than three films).

 

If Episodes VII-IX are sucsessful. It's definitely possible that Disney will do Episodes X-XII ASAP and bring back John Boyega and Daisy Risley for new adventures post-Episode IX because since there is no Jedi Order in TFA. It might not begin to rise again till the climax of Episode IX. Then in Episodes X through XII Finn and Rey can lead a new Jedi Order with hundreds of Knights against whatever threat will be in the SST(X-XII). I think there should be Episodes X-XII to continue the future of the SW galaxy post-Luke,Han and Leia.

I also susepect that Episode X will hit theaters in 2023,Episode XI in 2025 and then Episode XII to hit theaters in 2027 to celebrate ANH's 50th anniversary. Having an episode of the SST whether Episode X,XI or XII would definitely be a logical way to celebrate SW's golden anniversary. Some think Episode X should come out in 2027. But I prefer Episode X to come out as early as 2023 and then XI in 2025 and Episode XII in 2027.

 

Here are some possible plot scenarios for Episode IX that will set the stage for Episodes X-XII:

1.The First Order and the Resistance have their final battle in Episode IX. But instead of destroying one or the other. There is a peace treaty signed between the two and there are rumors of a great threat lurking in the Unknown Regions for Finn and Rey to face and they begin their journey into the UR. The Journey continues into Episodes X-XII. The SST ends with the Jedi Order rising to include hundreds or thousands of Knights.

2.The First Order is defeated in Episode IX and there is rumor of another Imperial Faction which is the Second and/or Third Order lurking in Unknown Space who will be the antagonists of Episodes X-XII.

3.The Jedi Order begins to emerge again under Rey and Finn. But there is a lost Tribe of Sith lurking in Unknown Space and building their own armada of ships to strike at the New Republic/Resistance and Jedi in the SST. The Jedi increase to over 100 Knights by Episode X.

4.A Planetary Confederation emerges at the end of Episode IX possibly the Corellian Confederation and have acquired a massive armada and many systems have already joined the Confederation to strike at the New Republic/Resistance in Episode X.

5.An alien warlord named Nuso Esva is stalking the Unknown Regions and is preparing to invade New Republic Space and Rey and Finn and the emerging New Jedi Order enlists the help of another warlord from the Unknown Regions a blue-skinned warlord named Grand Admiral Thrawn who once ruled the First Order in Episode VIII and IX and is now back to patrolling the UR joins the Republic in defeating Nuso Esva and his Eastern Fleet once and for all.

 

Here are possible dates which Episodes X-XII could be announced and/or confirmed to be in the works:

Celebration Europe Summer 2016

SW Celebration April 2017 40th anniversary of SW and one month before the release of Episode VIII

SW Celebration April 2018 one month before the release date of the Han Solo spinoff

SW Celebration April 2019 one month before the release of Episode IX perhaps??

SW Celebration April 2020 one momth before the release of the Boba Fett movie(the last confirmed new SW film)
