    Hello again fellow users of The Cantina. My last post was about a scene involving Finn which I was able to pry from someone who worked and is still working on TFA. I have been trying to get him to spill some beans on anything that has to do with TFA and I was fortunate enough to get the description of a small scene involving Finn last time.

    I tried doing the same thing yesterday but I was dully rejected, until the magic element of alcohol was introduced. After my source had a few too many drinks, I did what any Star Wars fan would do in my situation and took advantage of it. I started pressing him for details and, ( I am not proud of this ) told him that I would not take him home if he didn't talk. So he did. He spoke and gave me one detail for TFA and one very VERY interesting detail regarding Episode VIII... Spoiler ahead beware...

    The end of TFA will have our 3 main heroes, Rey, Finn and Poe standing in some sort of temple ( something like the end of TPM ) contemplating what comes next, and with them will stand someone who has a role that will be much more central and important in the upcoming movies, who is Domhnall Gleeson. When speaking about Domhnall, he kept saying Ben and laughing...

    Speaking of Ben, Obi-Wan Kenobi played by Ewan McGregor will have a role in Episode VIII. He said that during the end of filming, there were whispers among some of the crew ( must of whom are avid fans ) that Ewan would be back as Obi-Wan in the next movie. Now to be honest I am unsure what to think about Ewan coming back to play a ( presuming ) Force Ghost Obi-Wan. I love Ewan and I love his acting skills and believe he was one of the shining stars of the prequels, but I think it would be strange for say Luke to see a young Obi-Wan Force Ghost when he has only seen the old one in the OT.

    I don't believe he meant a post-credit scene, more like the scene at the very end of the movie.

    Well the OP (unless I missed it) said a scene at the end not an after the credit scene.

    Also the "next movie" that crew members might be speaking of could be one of the spin offs, an Obi-Wan spin-off has been teased before.

    So the three young leads plus Domhnall standing around... sure, why not? Seems more of an ESB ending than A New Hope.

    I'd prefer to see a victory/celebration for the new heroes... to echo Episode IV and to give us as an audience a wonderful moment to feel damn good about inside. Star Wars has returned triumphantly to the big screen after too many years and false starts, and these are the guys you cheer for... so cheer guys... and everything is happy. For now.

    It may be cheesy in this age of Maximum Edge Dark Cape Epic! but I don't care. Give me a classic happy ending to smile from ear to ear and bask in the joy of 300 other people happy as hell to see Star Wars done right again.

    The after credit bit seems cheap and unnecessary for Star Wars, though I do recall one of the films using Darth's breathing after the credits (may have been on one of the Special Editions in theaters).

    My 4 cents.

    If the guy the OP was speaking of was laughing about Domhnall and saying Ben that might imply that Gleeson is playing Ben Skywalker.

    I'd favor Ben Skywalker before I'd favor Kenobi somehow having descendants

    I think the rumors about McGregor could definitely be referring to the first spin off film. An Obi-Wan spin off has received a lot of demand from fans

    The funny thing is that no one posted Domhnall Gleeson's name correct in the posts above. No worries I fixed it for you. :)
    Now I don't understand why you guys think that @Darth Ameeran was speaking about a post credits scene? I don't know if this is legit but I like that it's something new. I will do some digging.

    I would be happy to have the film end without a celebration. Not because I must needs have Grimdark (TM) but because it would break tradition. Also, Boss Nass and his slobber and his crystal ball put me off Star Wars celebrations. Just because Ep IV had one did not mean I needed one. Clinging to all these structures impedes the good story.

    This sounds pretty likely actually. If Ewan is back, I will assume he will be a holocron message, like how Obi-Wan appeared in Rebels.

    What I find interesting is the apparent use of the name "Ben" in association Gleeson (who has been rumored to play Ben Skywalker quite a bit) yet he is counted as separate from the group of heroes.

    Were there any truth to what the OP's friend told him (he was drunk so... not sure about that), could mean Luke's son isn't considered part of the heroes... foreshadowing much?

    I've heard bits & pieces of the same "speculation" & rumors. This is what Id call it until the film scenes/edit are done.
    That may be MONTHS away too.
    If this "bar talk" is true, Id suspect the temple area would be Yavin 04. I don't know why but I think Luke would seek this place out or use it for comptimplaton or meditation.
    The remaining "young leads" may seek him out there or know that's his secret hiding spot. ;)
    I've stated before that the ending of TFA will be more like TESB or AOTC than A New Hope.
