I posted this one in the DP thread, but I thought it can be helpful especially for those who's going to watch it soon to set expectations and decide on going for 3D, IMAX or 2D. I removed Snoke parts since it has subtle spoilers.

As for the spoiler-free review, TFA is a shameless A New Hope copy with a decent quality. It feels more like the OT than the PT but still it's not enough to make it one of the OT. It's better than The Phantom Menace and Attack of The Clones. Unfortunately, Revenge of the Sith is better along with the OT of course.

Lightsaber combat is the most realistic one in the saga. The movie as a whole feels as dark as the OT and ROTS, perhaps even more. 3D is crap. Can't speak for IMAX 3D but I generally don't like 3D movies if they haven't used 3D cameras but only relied on conversion. Still this time it felt even worse. At the beginning I thought it's good but it was a downhill after that.

PT fans won't like the movie. OT fans will find it a little bit weird and something's missing but good enough. Unfortunately the story hasn't significantly progressed at all unlike in the previous movies. I guess Disney will squeeze every drop of Star Wars rights slowly but endlessly.

    Overall, 6/10.

Shortly I'm a little bit disappointed with the movie and the Snoke. My hopes were subtle because I don't consider the new trilogy's writers and directors good enough but the first scene in the movie raised my hopes to sky. And you know the rest...
