Cantina Members TROS Reactions (Spoilers free)

Well, whether it's gonna be the best Star Wars movie since Empire Strikes Back or the worst piece of blast since the Holiday Special, I strongly encourage everybody to go see it and decide for themselves. A final Skywalker movie doesn't come out every decade after all.

Ouch, that hurts man. So sorry to hear that.

 

Just popped into a cafe to write this. The Rise of Skywalker is great! It is dense and wastes exactly zero seconds, so strap in. I think the PR word "satisfying" is quite accurate, 'cause this film dots all the i's & crosses all the t's; a fantastic ride!

If you want to have fun, this is the film for you. (And I'm sure, if you want to hate, you will probably be able to construe some gripe as well, 'cause people always can, it seams).

It’s by far the worst Disney era movie. Haven’t decided yet if it’s worse than PT, but I voted ”horrible”. Got tickets to another screening in a couple of hours and I’m not keen on going. I’m actually quite amazed over how bad it is. Over time it may grow into the ”so bad it’s good” spectra - I hope so.

 

Well haven't seen it yet, but listened to it and John William's knocked it out of the park once again, so there's that.

 

Fair enough, but I had no ambition to post a review, I posted my honest reaction - according to what I believe the meaning of the thread is. See the movie for yourself and make your own judgement.

Well, I’m sorry you didn’t like my post and find me lazy. English doesn’t come natural for me and like I said I had no ambition to write a review at this particular moment. I’m sure other people will point out what I don’t like with the movie in the coming days.

I actually really liked it. Went in without any expectations because of the two previous movies (especially The Last Jedi) and having read the early reviews I was prepared for the worst. I was positively surprised though. Is it perfect? No; as no movie is. There were a few things that I wish they'd done differently (I didn't like two things mostly) but overall I can't complain. Is it enjoyable? Absolutely. There were quite a few throwbacks to the original movies without it being too much of a fan service. Good action sequences and no boring unnecessary sub-plots. The fate of the characters and the ending was satisfying. For me it was a really good damage control after the previous two (because I personally didn't like them) and I'm glad I went to watch it in the cinema.

Voted excellent as it exceeded my expectation and I thought it's an extremely fun movie to watch.

 

His opinion wasn't hyperbolic. He said it's the worst out of a possible 5 movies. Could be worse than 3 movies and that he's not all that excited to see it again. Being shocked by the quality (or lack thereof) of something isn't hyperbole. I was shocked to wake up and see a Rotten Tomatoes score of 50% for this movie, I never imagined it being so low. He didn't call it the worst movie ever made, he didn't make any reaches or try to say something that he couldn't possibly prove, he just gave an honest opinion of what he thought about the movie after seeing it.

Can we not beat up people here for their honest opinions? All the negative ratings for someone simply saying what they thought isn't really fair to the spirit of the thread. If someone is piling on that would e different, but it does seems that there's going to be strong reactions to this film. So brace for it.

Agreed. So far no one has been overly harsh or hyperbolic. Two people said they didn’t like the film. It’s obvious this one is going to be divisive so everyone needs to prepare for reading opinions they don’t like going forward.
