    I don't remember a reason. The way I took it is that Vader is taking over for Tarkin. Seems to me that Tarkin is out of his depth. :p

    I kind of figured the reason was "Vader is taking over", but it would have still been nice to see him; maybe a scene where he says to Vader "These Rebels are your problem now, perhaps you shall have more success than your previous representative." IN ANH, Tarkin seems to treat Vader kind of like an Inquisitor, it woul dhave been cool to see something like this tonight. Oh well, there's still the rest of the season...

    To be honest, the book Tarkin really helps with understanding their relationship. Each have their own skills that are useful to the Emperor (especially Vader, as a Sith), so they are a kind of tag-team at times, and work well together. That doesn't speak to seeing Tarkin bow out of the conflict, so I see your point. :)

    Given that Darth Vader was sent to Lothal, Tarkin's presence was most likely seen as redundant by the Galactic Empire and they assigned him elsewhere.

    Yeah, Tarkin is a busy guy. He has a star system to govern and Death Star construction to oversee. He made a quality control supervisory stop on Lothal it seems and then on to other things.

    Episode of Great Escape! Lothal is lost for now. I envisioned something like that in my looong posts about Ezra, that he and Kanan will rather run than lose their lives, because they have mission to do other than the missions of already known characters of the Episodes.

    It is quite possible, Rebels 2 to evolve into separate timeline, regardless of the content of Episode 7. New inquisitor, not necessarily Dart Vader in each series, and new planets involved. There is large space of imagination that I believe won't lack the film makers. What they gave in the premiere, is the fact the Universe is larger than the dozen of known planets. And the Rebels Heroes, including 2 new Jedi, could spend the rest of their mission in life with enough exciting and worthy events. Without necessarily to give up their life prematurely and untimely, only to justify the known future timeline of Episode 4 The New Hope.

    Ezra, Kanan, Ashoka, and the rest, have their mission and it could spread to other unexplored parts of the Universe. Otherwise it would be pretty boring. How it will all end, at the end of Rebels that could continue for years parallel to the Episodes 7,8,9 , is anyone's guess.

    @Kyle Where do you want to see the Ahsoka / Vader story play out? Book, comic or film? While they'd all be cool, I want to see it, not read about it. I have a feeling we'll get in Rebels.

    Someone mentioned that the new female Inquisitor could be Dahra Leones. It woukd be interesting ... however I remember reading somewhere that tgis particular storyline will be dealt with in the Servants of the Empire book series.

    One line struck me as weird like it was there for a reason. When Kanan put on the stormtrooper armor, Ezra says "I'm Jealous. I only have the helmet."
    We know he is a collector of helmets, but could this be so kind of foreshadowing that he may end up as part of the empire?

    I would hope to see it live action. I agree that it will play out on Rebels, but I was hoping someday she would get her own show. Probably not going to happen. I thought it would be cool to have it take place at the same time as Rebels, with her going between different rebel cells and recruiting them to be part of what will become the Rebel Alliance. Just a wish but I think what is left of her story will mostly be told through Rebels and I'm fine with that. I have a good feeling about this season and where the show is headed overall.
