So this was basically a video about a fashion designer putting Tie Fighter wings on Women's shoes. This movie needs to come out already.

Mostly, but it had Vader's lightsaber thrown in there and three new shots...so, yeah I agree, TLJ needs to get here fast.

 

I have a bad felling about this... everyday new tv spots new spoilers... SW overload, just a couple of months ago I was wondering where is the trailer... now... can't believe how fast time flies.

 

I've been seeing a tv spot on almost every channel now. About 15 minutes ago I see the newest one within 5 minutes back to back.

 

There has been a lot recently but I don't think as many as TFA had at this point. Not saying they won't get there. I'm really surprised they revealed the Rey part.

 

I know. I wasn't even expecting anything like that at all.

 

It's interesting that they released another spot a little while ago, with Luke saying, "It's not going to go the way you think". Just b4 the Rey scene.

 

That was too much, Kylo Ren about to pull the trigger and now Rey force grabbing his sword. What was all the secrecy about for months if now they're revealing all suspenseful moments. When both moments arrive on screen you'll know what takes place. But I have to say the worst tv spot of all time is Terminator Genysis when John connor is revealed to be a Terminator!

 

Misdirection? My thought is, there is something bigger. The Rey piece just fanned the flames for the Kylo hand reach in the trailer. Yes, we'll probably know the moment when Rey gets Kylo's saber but right now we DON'T know the surrounding circumstances or who else is in the room. Probably Snoke, Rey, Ren, Hux + Guards? But who else? And, what happens b4 and after that scene. I don't think marketing or whomever would have revealed that just to give us a spoiler like that.

 

I remember watching an episode of collider movie talk. The discussion was about why do they reveal so much in the tv spots and the theory is the studios know that even if they reveal too much the audience knows what they are getting into, so they'll go out to see the film anyway. If not enough is revealed the audience doesn't know what they're getting into and won't bother showing up... best way I can explain it. According to them marketing experts have proven the theory works.

 

And this makes sense for the GA. I also think, we as SW fans are a different kind of audience, to where a lot of us don't want those type of spoilers. We'll go see the movies, probably, no matter what. Angry or not.

 

I dont think they would show something like this secene if it was a major spoiler.
Honestly ever shot we get in trailers/tv spots is a "spoiler". I still watch every tv spot

 

One thing I regret doing is making myself familiar with the actors, and their personalities. Doing so has made me literally see the actors in the films, instead of the character.

That's Mark Hamill playing Luke. Daisy playing Rey. John Boyega (who I think is a fantastic actor) playing Finn.

However, I say this because I saw one TV spot, when Luke was standing behind Rey, watching/talking..he had this look in his eye, this facial expression that totally made me forget Mark Hamill. I rewound it and smiled and thought.. "nah, that's an old Luke Skywalker"

The second one is the worst TV spot I have ever seen in my life.

Exclusively because the narration. Good grief it sounds like narration for the next episode of the Saturday morning cartoon. It was cringy. Ew.

What if Ben ends up training her. And episode 9 ends up a hunt of Snoke, Rey and Ben for Luke, and Ben ends up turning and sides with Luke. Sacrifices himself for his uncle

Here in the "third world" there is nothing. If it wasn't for the internet, nobody would even know that this movie is coming in a week. The strange thing is that TFA had heavy marketing. I fear for the Box Office numbers.
