(This is my first time posting on a forum, so bear with me)

As my name suggests, I'm a huge fan of "the force unleashed". With that said, it's no secret that I'd like to see it (in someway) return to the canon side of the force. Thanks to a youtubers theory (the stupendous wave), this could very well happen, he recently uploaded a video where he talked about the possibility of Starkiller making his way into "rouge one". He mostly just gave his opinion on the matter, but being a huge fan of TFU, I couldn't help but hope this is true, so I've givin it some thought.

Here's a couple reasons of why he could make it in.

    1. The leaked teaser: (spoiler I guess) I don't know if that teaser with obi wan talking in the background was real or not, but if it was, what were those rebels scared of at the end. the sound of vaders breathing is absent, and if my memory is correct, there is no sound of a lightsaber either. You could argue that vader is using the force to kill them, but he's more of a saber kind of guy when it comes to plain infantry. on the other hand, Starkiller is VERY strong in the force, he took down a star destroyer with ease. There's no doubt in my mind that he has very creative ways of killing them. And for those who say it's the emperor, I have my doubts about the emperor wasting his time on spies.

    2. Starkillers story fits in: (spoilers for anyone who hasn't beaten TFU) as we see in the end of TFU, marek was used by vader and the emperor to find rebel sympathizers, so that vader could hunt down and kill any threat to the empires plans, this would fit in with rouge ones story since it's about the spies who got the plans to the Death Star. Yes, some parts of TFU would have to be erased for this to work, but it could still work

    3. How will the empire find out about spies in its ranks: in order for the empire to know of this, they will need spies themselves, which again, Starkiller is a spy. (Yeah that's a weak point, but still worth mentioning)

    4. money Money MONEY!!!: Disney is wasting many opportunities here, there are many stories that, if revived, could bring in the cash quick, TFU is one of them. Just think of all the toys, books, games etc that would be made for Starkiller if he was given back his role in Star Wars.

Now the reasons why he can't return

    1. balance in the force: if a force user was in this movie, there would have to be balance, someone to compare to Starkiller. who would that be? They would have to find a way to add a strong enough enemy to fight him, it's doubtful obi-wan could, and there isn't a slim chance yoda would. As much as I hate to admit it, he's to strong to exist here (but in defense of those of us who want him to return, they could just take some of his power away)

    2. no force: this movie is meant to be focusing on non-force-sensitive beings, and the force is definitely to strong with Starkiller to include him (but it is Star Wars, which is mostly about the force, so there needs to be something force related in this movie)

    3. Darth vader would lose his thunder: A powerful being like Starkiller would take away the fear of vader, and make him look to weak (but there were plenty of sith who made vader look weak before everything EU related was erased, and we didn't care then)

Ultimately, I just don't see him coming back (mostly because I'd enjoy that). I'd die of excitement if he returned, but I believe his fate was sealed when Disney killed the EU, but there may yet be hope for this epic character. Anyways, I know people hate TFU, but like the rules say, please be respectful of my opinions. What's you're guys thoughts, And may the force be with you... Always.

I kind of have the opposite feeling about Starkiller. Not really a fan (and in all honesty that's probably because I never played the game, just heard about the character). I think the point you raise about there being no Force-users is key here.

But to play devil's advocate, I believe the actual quote is that there would be no Jedi. Nothing was said of Dark Side Force users to my knowledge.

Nice catch, I was not aware of the "no Jedi" thing. The only reason I'm so obsessed with Starkiller and TFU, is because it's what brought me into the world of Star Wars. In 2010, I bought an xbox and TFU. Before that, I thought Star Wars was as dumb as dumb could be. But after playing, I really got into Star Wars. And now I'm a Star Wars mega fan.

I would not be surprised if a character in the film was called Galen Marek as a nice little reference, but is nothing like the Galen Marek we know.

I would love it to be Mikkelsen, but based on what MSW said about his character, I'm not so sure.

I'm going to be honest. I read the thread title and my first thought was "The Death Star's already in this film, and now you want Starkiller Base too?"
And then I realised what you were actually talking about. :p

As to that, I'd say that it's unlikely. I think that the tone they seem to be going for is much more grounded than his story would allow.

I think Starkiller will be featured in the movie as a test facility. They shot scenes in Iceland, some in the same icy wasteland where TFA's starkiller exterior shots were made. I also hope it is in the movie, because it would silence a lot of people.

Wrong Starkiller. :) He's talking about the guy from the Force Unleashed video games.

Would never happen. It would be nice if people like Garm Bel Iblis were in the movie.

Many elements from the erased canon have been brought back for use.
