SPECULATION Will there be a StarKiller Base 2.0 in EP9?

I wouldn't mind if the Renpereor turns the Supremacy's remains in2 a Superweapon.

 

Instead of a super weapon, it will be an army of Force babies.

 

I think the Episode IX will have 3 types of battles. 1. A battle between force users (Kylo vs. Rey and other Force-sensitives (ie. KOR, Jedi Padawans, Force ghosts?)., 2. Battle on the ground with FO army vs. Rebellion Army (Finn and Rose and the rebellion troops vs. FO troops), 3. Battle in Space between FO ships vs. Rebellion Ships (HUX vs. POE). This would be somewhat similar to Return of the Jedi climax, with 3 different battles happening. I am not sure if Kylo Ren will return to being Ben Solo and be redeemed, or if they will double down on his evil dark side self.

Maybe there is infighting in the FO between Hux and Kylo and it could be a battle between their factions.

All I know is that as longs as the characters and story are compelling, and it strives to tie in the past history of all the saga (OT and PT), then Episode IX will be a success.

 

The main criticism of The Force Awakens was that it played it too safe. I don't think JJ would do something that unoriginal to complete this trilogy.

 

The way they play it, Kylo Ren is never really completely not Ben Solo anyway. He only changed 3 letters of his name. He gets referred to as both, which most other characters are never referred to by their old name. Kanan at the end of his life got some of the Dume back, and it meant something. Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader when it went from one to the other it meant something. That whole child in a mask/ you don't need that mask means something. Maybe we have to get away from thinking full out redemption as the concept in which we know it, because I don't think whatever happens to him will be anything like what happened to Vader. Maybe it won't be redemption, or transformation, or whatever. His personality goes from one way to the other throughout the two movies (Think how he treated Poe over Rey, think how he acts when it comes to the decision to blow up the ship Leia is on, think about how he goes ballistic and breaks stuff). There's something to that.

Remember that J.J was involved to some extent with the creative process for the whole series and it wasn't just Rian could do anything he wanted. He could to some extent, but there were still things that were set in stone as to happening. The details and most of the story, yes, that was Rian, but there are still things that are already in place. I don't think IX will be safe, but I don't think it will be out there. It might be a bit more "mainstream". People complain about it not being original, then you get an original movie and people complain about it. If it has a superweapon, I'm sure it will be satisfying. I like the idea of playing off Hux (head fo the First Order even if there's a Supreme Leader Ren) vs Poe (Being the inherited leader of the Resistance, let's hope he learned his lessons, I'm sure in a GFFA way he did). And no everyone isn't going to be happy because Star Wars fans are the worst. They treat it like it's sacred, and it's not. It's just a movie. We love and hold those characters dear and we want them treated a certain way but we all have different ideas how that should be. Star Wars is poetry and it rhymes, and it's been shaken up a bit, but it will still rhyme. TLJ had a lot of references to the other films cinematic wise, but in a new and different kind of story if anyone liked it or not.

 

I also wouldn't mind a Superweapon that is controlled by a Force user(s). I think an orginal idea was 2 have SKB Force controlled.

 

Agreed, a criticism I don't share cause I really love TFA and all its decisions.. But J.J., beside he has publicly said he has learned from his mistakes (which I don't think he did any), is more intelligent than some people may think. In my opinion I have faith he will give us a good and proper story.

J.J. would have to be insane to do this. Actually, I guess I wouldn't know whether to hate him for a 2nd Starkiller or appreciate the fact that he's doing what he feels like despite criticism...

 

There really wouldn't be a point to another superweapon. There's only a few dozen Resistance members left and they're down to one ship. The last space battle showed the First Order needs more small, fast assault ships to catch the Resistance, not more lunking behemoths that can't catch anything mobile.

Then there's the question of who would build such a weapon. Hux likes 'em big, but Hux has been reduced from a military leader to a slapstick comedy prop. Snoke is dead. Kylo showed no interest in planet-busting weapons, he's fixated on more personal battles.

There's no need for such a weapon, and nobody left to commission one even if there was a need.

 

Scene opens with a panoramic shot of a HUGE arena, over 10,000 FO stormtroopers in gleaming armor stand in perfect formation, facing a podium.

In the background, in the far distance, a small moon-sized spherical object is covered by a sheet.

Hux steps to the podium.

“The First Order is the supreme power in the Galaxy. After running through numerous options with my staff, I have made the decision to construct the ultimate weapon which will show our awesome power. This weapon has the power to destroy entire PLANETS!”

The stormtroopers begin to murmur among themselves…

“Yes, here it is!!!!! I present to you…….DEATH……STAR……..THREEEEEEEEEEE!”

Hux pulls a cord and the sheet falls away, revealing, yes, another Death Star….

The arena goes completely silent, and crickets are heard chirping in the background….
