The wait for phase 2 of the High Republic is almost over. October 4th marks the beginning with the release of Tessa Gratton and Justina Ireland's young adult novel Path of Deceit. Following that will be George Mann's junior novel Quest for the Hidden City. Ahead of their arrival on bookshelves everywhere, the official synopses have been released.

The events of phase 2 take place 150 years before phase 1. Path of Deceit will take readers back to Dalna, a planet shown in phase 1 to be not exactly welcoming to the Jedi. According to the updated pre-order listing on Amazon, times are definitely different on Dalna. The synopsis reads as follows:

Mardo Ro is indeed of the same species as Marchion Ro, the main villain of phase 1. There has been no indication as to their affiliation other than the same last name.

The formula so far for the High Republic junior novels has been simple: to tell a story adjacent to what's going on in the novels for older audiences, but still making it a vital addition to the overall narrative. Quest for the Hidden City looks to continue that mission. The synopsis for its updated Amazon listing reads:

At Star Wars Celebration, the High Republic team went into detail about how the galaxy isn't as developed during this time. There are specific teams that have the job to expand the galaxy and bring the Republic into a new age. Quest for the Hidden City releases November 1st.

One last thing to note: the upcoming adult novel Convergence's release date has been pushed back a week, from November 15th to November 22nd. For the synopsis on that novel, you can find it here.
