New details have been revealed about Phase III of the High Republic publishing initiative via the Star Wars: The High Republic Show on YouTube, including the cover and synopsis for Phase III's first book, The Eye of Darkness. There were also some new details provided regarding this year's San Diego Comic-Con panel and about some of the authors who will be attending.

Phase III of The High Republic will be kicking off with Star Wars: The Eye of Darkness, written by George Mann. The book is set one year after the events of Phase I, following the destruction of Starlight Beacon. It is slated for release this year on November 14. The newly unveiled cover and synopsis have been provided below (via StarWars.com). The cover by Grant Griffin features Marchion Ro sitting on a throne wielding Loden Greatstorm's lightsaber.

At this year's San Diego Comic-Con, there will be a Lucasfilm Publishing panel on Friday, July 21 at 1 pm PST where authors Justina Ireland, George Mann, Cavan Scott, and Charles Soule will be there in attendance.

The panel also promises new reveals for the High Republic and otherwise, including the cover for the first issue of Phase III's Star Wars: The High Republic comic from Marvel. Phase III of The High Republic comic looks to bring back Keeve Trennis, who is described as 'older and a bit wiser after the events of Starlight's fall.' The comic will once again be written by Cavan Scott with art by Ario Anindito and Mark Morales. Issue #1 is set for release sometime in November.

Finally, fan-favorite Wookie Jedi Burryaga did indeed survive the fall of Starlight Beacon and will be featured in the upcoming anthology book, Tales of Light and Life. Those at SDCC will be able to pick up a copy there before anyone else. Tales of Light and Life will feature a short story from every High Republic author, taking place across the entire High Republic era, including tales in the gap between Phases I and III. Fans can also pick up an exclusive pin there with 'Burryaga Lives' inscribed on it. The physical copy of Tales of Light and Life is slated to release everywhere else on September 5, while the eBook version has been spotted on Amazon and Barnes & Noble to have a July 25 release date attached to it.

We have not been able to confirm this is the case, but it does seem likely given the source.

    Burryaga Lives!

Now I'm really wondering if the Jedi Wookie in The Acolyte is really him. I know they gave another mame for that character, but they gave another name for Rebecca Henderson's character before revealing she was actually Vernestra Rwoh.
