I know some people enjoyed TROS, which is fine, but the more I think of the film, the more it still astonishes me how awful it really is....for all their sins the PT had a strong central storyline, but TROS was like half a dozen films badly assembled into one...I still can't get over the 'Oh, no - Rey's killed Chewie!' then five minutes later, 'hey it's ok, he was on another ship!' (where DID that one come from?):confused::rolleyes:

Snoke should have remained a female snake, pretty sure that the snake in the TROS was harking back to that plot. Nah, still don't like TLJ. No amount of years past will change that. I just have less venom towards it, I really cannot stand RJ but never understood the notion of folks hating him and hating his film going after him on social media. Sure you can say you don't like the but @ him. Never got it. If you don't like him block him. But that's about Rian and not the film.

One thing that certain commentators say is that the film is a feminist film. LMAO firstly seeing a dude shirtless looking like Sponge Bob Square pants and Finn looking on at another shirless beefcake whilst on fathier in a sauna, gross. Nah, am a gay woman I don't want to see it. Secondly Holdo, Phasma, Paige Tico dead, Rose and Leia in a coma (will never forgive Rian or that) Rose used to uplift Finn, Leia used to uplift Poe, Rey used to uplift both Luke and Kylo. So yeah basically using three women as prop devices. That's really feminist, NOT. Rey doing nothing in the final act apart from lifting stones, she's the damn protagonist, That's wrong.

Don't get me started on Finn's storyline either. His story just feels like an annex that has no effect on the overall story. I can vaguely see when folks say that the arc in this film gave him direction but that direction gave him nothing on the actual story told apart from the fact of a parking violation although, I guess you could say a parking violation led to the death of Luke Skywalker, it's just daft,

I know in the build up to the TLJ and TROS I got a lot of telling off for being nasty but all of the above is constructive criticism, that should be allowed. I said it before in the past and I will say it again not that it is happening at the moment, many people can troll but many, many can over gush and that is just as much as troll as actual trolling.

    Peace
    xxx

But there was. The anger came when Snoke was unceremoniously killed in the second film BEFORE any back story was really given.

Fine. A lot of people's enjoyment of the saga isn't reliant on their knowledge that the creators plotted everything out beforehand. Honourably.

I'm an asexual woman and I have no objection to a shirtless Kylo!:D

Seriously, regarding Finn's arc, RJ did far more with him than Abrams in either TFA or TROS, and I believe the 'Leia in a coma' storyline was largely due to Carrie Fisher's health problems, so it's a bit unfair to blame RJ for that.

As someone who has a gay brother, I have never 'belittled' anyone. I'm sorry you found my comment offensive, when it was meant as nothing of the sort.

I really find it sad so many criticised how Luke was written in TLJ. He was simply shown a bit like Mel Gibson's character in Signs, as someone who had lost his faith and ultimately found it again.

And I loved the way he 'fought' Kylo at the end of the film. In the OT Luke won by surrendering his weapon, and refusing to kill his father.....thus earning the wrath of the Emperor, who was then destroyed by Anakin, proving that Luke's faith in his father was justified.

In TLJ, he allowed Kylo to vent his hurt and rage on a wraith...thus preventing his nephew from further destroying his soul by having the blood of yet another family member on his hands; RJ cleverly emphasised how badly murdering Han had affected Kylo with the little speech by Snoke to him at the beginning.

Luke defeated the Emperor by using love, instead of hate. And ironically, he used the same method with his nephew....because I'll never forget the broken, sad look on Kylo's face at the end of TLJ. His fury burned out, he realised what he'd lost. To quote Yinsen from IronMan: 'You are a man who has everything and nothing.'
