The story, for Moff Gideon, will obviously begin with how he got out of New Republic custody. How does he do that? My guess is that there's someone on the inside, someone got inside, or he found his own way out via force of sheer willpower. He's made of some pretty stern stuff, after all.

The whole focus of his character is his mission to acquire Gogru and get his 'Force stuff' from him so the Imperial Remnant can rebuilt itself - the bad guys need a new Dark Lord, so they're going to make one.

    Well, good luck with that.

Now that we've seen the Darksaber destroyed by Moff Gideon, it is taken out of play and can only be a part of tribal lore. (I'm glad big guy Vizla didn't live to see that.)
Now the leadership of the Mandalorian people must necessarily follow some other criterion, which might just have to be worked out amongst everybody. How will they do that? Some kind of voting procedure managed by the Armorer, no doubt.
