The on-screen secret sauce is a blueish liquid that ep.4 (5?) indicated might actually be a sample of the living waters of Mandalore. I imagine that Imp Scientist have discovered this and are therefore able to replicate the forging techniques with a steady supply of said waters.

But who knows.

 

I'm starting to think there is some Clan Saxon-like presence working with Gideon. Those survivor scouts on the skiff were just too convenient to show up when they did and take the group directly to the Great Forge that just happened to be where Gideon and his troops were.

Also, Gideon asked the Shadow Council for Praetorian Guards, and TIE interceptors and TIE bombers... So was that sizable squad that hit Kalevala NOT Gideon's? Din and Bo only took out 4 or 5 interceptors and one bomber, and then the bigger squad showed up, so...

I just don't know. Anything. They got me twisted.
I just can't believe that the Armorer could be turned. Famuyiwa definitely did some things to point to her as the other Spy, some of the cuts to her, the score behind her, even the way the color of her armor stood out from everyone else... But I think those survivors were just so obvious. Them "recognizing" Bo like they did, it was just too convenient. Of course, the gravity of that theory is that a large group of them are now aboard the Light Cruiser and could very well wreak havoc there. For me, best chances are those guys and maybe Axe Woves, are The Spies.

I think Gideon's helmet could very well be previously owned, but yes, he has obviously found a way to work the Beskar. I do wonder if maybe the Living Water used by the Armorer is maybe some ancient Mando secret that gives their armor a little more strength. Those Commando troops sure didn't hold up very well the way we have seen the Mandalorian's armor do here lately.
How poetic would it be if Moff Gideon thinks he has Bo-Katan and her Darksaber defeated once again, only to have her plunge the Darksaber through his wannabe Beskar chestplate because his was not tempered with Living Water? Now that would be a finale.

 

I wonder if will will see those bird creatures in the finale?

It sounds ridiculous, but look how long it took him to inact his plan in the prequels? As far as the later, you just have to accept these kinds of things. Like, I don't think how he got there is that important.

 

Essence transfer has long been my favorite force power, just ask Bevel Lemelisk.

I thought I saw the Covert roasting them on a spit for the big meal they all had.

 

It just occurred to me that replacing someone who never takes his/her helmet off might not be that difficult. Any of the Children of the Watch could be another spy. It may not be that one of them betrayed the others, but that they were just captured and replaced with someone who can pass as them. Or, even a clone of them.

I actually wondered that as well. It looked like one but it was hard to tell. I kinda thought they would raise them instead of eating them after Bo Katan mentioned caring for them.

 

I don't think Grogu being in this season was originally in their plans. He and Din had the perfect arc completed at the end of Season 2. Like, chef's kiss perfect. I imagine the marketing/head-honchos inserted themselves at a certain point (once Grogu's popularity & merch sales went into overdrive) and they realized they needed him back. Think about it ... what has he done in S3 that couldn't have been accomplished by anyone else, like IG-11 or R5? He's basically along for the ride at this point. This would also explain the offbeat two-episode Mondo-Grogu arc in TBOBF: reunite Mando & Grogu for S3, pronto!

It's obvious to me there are things going on behind the scenes, and I think we're seeing those manifested in the handling of Grogu. Anyway, it's really not taken away my enjoyment of the the series.

The Book Of Boba Fett was already being filmed before season 2 of The Mandalorian was even finished streaming. The conclusion of S2 of Mando and Grogu's departure with Luke was so well received and reviewed, the theory that "marketing" altered the writing, production and clearly a big chunk of the budget of TBOBF and future series of Mando just to perversely and gratuitously undo that ending to S2 of Mando, in order to give Grogo token involvement in S3 (but at great expense, including several major flashback scenes) doesn't make logistical, financial or even common sense. If you think about it.

Nothing was stopping them from just spinning off a Grogu mini series if merchandising was all they were inspired by. That would probably have made much more financial and practical sense.

 

Frog Lady will turn up with all her spawn hatched. And armed to the teeth.

 

Squad of Alamites is also on the table

 

Well there has been several amphibian species featured in the past two series. Probably not a coincidence. Maybe the Mon Cala will show up to help the Mandos who returned their son and heir.

 

And where the hell is Fenn Rau?

 

Whilst I think this episode was the best of the season...I think it's a case of "too little - too late". I just can't get over how bad the writing and plot contrivances are...

SW has me at the point where even though I saw Paz get destroyed, I still don't trust them with his death being final lol. Hand waving away previous deaths does this to your audience.

Enough of the negativity. I will say this, as a huge fan of Blade Runner, I thought Coruscant never looked better! A few years back there was talk of a BR series, but it petered out.

With honesty I say this... I will watch this episode again, but none of the prior 6. Episode 6 was SW at it's lowest point imo. I cannot reconcile that as being part of the same GFFA as a lot of the other entries.

 

I had the same thought at first, but that on the spit doesn't look like it has wings.

I'm surprised they didn't show up in this episode. Would have been a better foe than yet another big monster. Maybe in the finale.

Got to be at least even odds he shows up. I would be surprised if this season ends without getting at least one or two more known Madalorians. Rau, Rook Kast, Tristan or Sabine Wren, a living Saxon... are all in play.

 

I've always wanted to see the Spiderman meme in live action, so I'm hoping that they're all spies.​

I know this thread is about Chapter 23 but I feel compelled to offer a defense of Chapter 22. Was it one of my favorites? No. But it is most certainly reflective of the kind of film and TV content fans have gotten from the Star Wars Universe over the years.

If you didn't like it, that's perfectly fine. But it was prototypical of the GFFA.
