Should the inevitable happen, there is only one acceptable way for Ahsoka to die (at least for me) is through self-sacrifice. Hear me out.

The crew of the ghost is in trouble. The rebel alliance is in the brink of total failure. Ahsoka is battling Darth Vader one-on-one after learning of his true identity. Greatly outmatched against Darth Vader's immense power and hatred, Ahsoka suddenly has a vision through the force.

A vision of her past - A flashback of her and Anakin Skywalker, her master, her mentor, her brother, her friend; A vision of Anakin's fall to the dark side; and finally, a vision of the future - Anakin's redemption through his son, and his fulfillment of the prophecy to destroy the Sith and restore balance to the force.

At that moment she sacrifices her self to save Anakin, to save her friends, and to help the rebellion.

    "Goodbye Anakin, old friend"

    And Vader strikes her down...

    :(:(:(

Agreed. It should be some delaying action intended to let the rest of the crew escape, rather than just some one-off "Oh no! Vader caught me alone!" type of deal.

One thing I imagine is, after striking her down, Vader does his trademark 'solemn stare' for a matter of seconds. Enough to let us know he's somewhat reflecting on what just transpired. Then turns, walks away and, as smooth as he always is, informs some Imperial officer to ready his shuttle for departure as if nothing happened.

Yea, it won't be for a while but I've always figured it would be her trying to redeem Him.

I like it, like Obi-Wan he wasn't bested by Vader. He was in fact using a more powerful weapon in merging with the force. That would be a touching way for her to go.

What if, and I know we have no reason to think she'd have been told about this trick, but what if she does the Obi-Wan move of closing her eyes waiting for that death blow like he did on the Death Star, but at the last millisecond she realizes she sin't quite powerful enough.

No poof, no disappearing trick. :(

I wouldn't expect a disappearing trick because it seems pretty overt that only Yoda and Obi-Wan know that trick to begin with. And clearly they haven't been having mental chats with her, or she'd be seeking them out.

The distinction I was making is that I don't think she would think it was a possibility. She'd just expect to die. Remember, all Jedi teaching to that point explicitly said there was no afterlife for Jedi. It's not just that Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan and Yoda were the only ones trained or powerful enough...they're the only one who even knew there was a possibility of it.

If she has to die, Vader won't kill her. Palpatine will.
