SPECULATION Time Between Ep VII And Ep VIII

Yes. 17 months!

 

I know can't wait.

 

I would like to see the "gap", have Rey in training for that time, possibly even creating a light saber. Also I would think that Kylo will have completed his training, shock us with a new suit design/mask, and new light saber with a......black crystal.

 

I believe there will be a 1-3 or so year time gap. In between you will probably get a lot of expanded universe material, comics, novels, etc. to fill in the gap for people, like me, who enjoy some of that. Some of it will probably connect the dots and set up Episode VIII, like a few prequel novels and comics set up Episode VII, actually gave it more depth. Because a lot of things could've been added to the movie to give some portions of it more clarity.

 

At least a year. Finn is in a coma so that would be a lame place to pick up a story. I think it will pick up with Rey in the middle of training and Finn/Poe leading missions against the First Order.

 

Yeah, if Luke decides to train Rey, I think the film will open with both Rey and Ben at the final stages of their training. If so, it might even be a couple of years. Rey returns to help the Resistance out against the First Order, and Finn is already a bit of a key player, like Luke and Han were in TESB.
